PCOS clomid and metformin

by blueeyes10, Apr 07, 2009 12:22PM
I have PCOS. I am taking clomid  and metformin for the last 4 month. This is my last cycle of clomid. I think i ovulate because i am having regular period (29 days cycle). Can anyone PLZ tell me does clomid works late for those who has PCOS.

Hi!
Clomid works like clock work if it works at all.  If your cycle is 29 days, that suggests that you ovulate on day 15.  Some doctors prescribe clomid on cycle day 5-9 which would put ovulation on day 16.  Others prescribe it on day 3-7 which makes ovulation occur on day 14.  Have you tried taking ovulation predictors to find out when they turn? Have you taken a pregnancy test on cycle day 21 to be sure about your ovulation?

One other suggestion--ask your doctor what his/her opinion is about Femara. I personally think it works better than clomid.
Good luck!
