Pregnancy Symptoms

I am six weeks pregnant with my first child.  So far other than some mild cramping(no bleeding), and sore breasts I have had no other symptoms.  Is it normal not to have morning sickness??  I have read that people who have morning sickness have a lower rate of miscarriage?  Am I to early into the pregnancy for these symptoms to be surfacing??  I am getting very concerned and I do not go back to my OB until 6/5 for a sonogram.  Any insight would be appreciated!

Hello there,

I started getting extreme nausea in my 5th week of p/g.  I'm now almost 10 weeks and the nausea is still just as bad.  I had to resort to taking a prescription drug Zofran which is sometimes used in chemo patients to reduce the nausea they sometimes experience afterwards.  It has helped somewhat but I still cannot function very well.  I haven't thrown up but I don't eat or drink much either as I feel like I will get sick if I do.  I've tried almost everything they say on the web and nothing has worked.  It is very frustrating as I am trying to work while living thru this.  I just ordered a bioband that is suppose to put pressure on a point 2" above your wrist to alleviate the signals sent to your brain telling you that you are nauseated and should receive that sometime this week.  Other than that I'm at a loss.  I take it one day at a time but it has been very hard and I've cried a lot lately due to the constant nausea.  Most websites state that the nausea may start to disappear around the 12-14 week mark so maybe you're in the home stretch as far as that goes.  Best of luck to you.  I can most definitely sympathize.

i have the same symptoms as you. My nausea comes from a heightened sense of smell. I was wondering if it meant that i could be pregnant.

I am going through the same thing...I had my tubes clamped 6 years ago (on June 19th) and have been very regular (every 28 days) now I haven't had a period since May 30th, I think I had implantation spotting around the 1st of July...I have a few symptoms, fatigue, slight nausua, dizziness, fullness in breasts but no soreness, small cramps from time to time in my sides. Wondering if I'm pregnant? I have taken 5 HPT and all come out Negative...during my other three pregnancies I was throwing up by this time, I just want to know!!!!

Am 29 and i have had an unsuccessful ivf recently, i bleeded on the 17th of May, 2007. On the 4th of june i experienced a discharge which was not a normal period but a brownish disharge that lasted for 6 days. Today, the 4th of July I hav still not seen a full period. I have been very bloated, tired, and 49 days since my last period. 5 days ago i passed urine that has a foul odour, honestly smells like a waste pipe, fishylike. lasted for 3 days. Temperature stays at 37.1F everyday and i feel mild period pains. COULD I BE PREGNANT!! OR IS MY BODY ADJUSTING TO THE FAILED IVF????? somebody pleeeese help. am anxious since we've been trying for the past 2 YEEEEERRSS......

Hi,

I have 4 kids... After my daughter I had a tubal ligation done immediately following the delivery.  I was extremely fertile!! You could cough on me and I'd get pregnant ; )

Anyway, my cycle of 26days is consisent and has been this whole time until this month... I was suppose to start on 6/15 and I still havent yet (5days late)!  I took a HPT and it was neg.  I never miss a period... I do have some pregnancy symptoms.. nausia, fatique, cramping.. and slight vertigo at times.  I read someone elses post that their HPT didn't show positive until 6weeks - right now I would be calculated as 4 weeks 3days... would there not be enough HCG to show up on a HPT?  Even though its the one that says "Now know sooner....5 days before your missed period"??

Thanks for your help,
Brin

I am 29 weeks pregnant and never once felt bad or got sick.  Besides mild breast tenderness for 6 weeks or so (less than when I was getting a normal period) I have not had any symptoms at all.  I had the same concerns but now I am just really happy and feel really lucky.  Dont count your blessings yet though because it can all hit between 7-9 weeks.  Just enjoy your puke free time now.

Hi there,

My nausea started on a few days ago, but it does not seem to be consistent....three days ago, I almost threw up and I have been nauseated for the past few days, then today I feel like I am nauseated but not sure.....I crave for salty and vinegar stuff so I am eating chips etc and I think that this is helping with thw nausea.

I go next week for my u/s so detect a heartbeat...............I have the very sore breasts, tiredness, light cramps from time to time, so I am awaiting to find the heartbeat...............

good luck to you all

It's perfectly normal to not have morning sickness! I never did with my daughter and she came out healthy as can be! My pregnancy went great...no morning sickness, no swelling, no mood swings. Some people are different from others!

This is my second pregnancy since August of 2006 (I lost my first one at 4.5 months in December 2006) and I must say, when they say all pregnancies are different, they in fact are surely right! With my first baby, I didn't even know I was pregnant until I was over 3 months because I have PCOS and I hadn't had a period in 2 years.  I went in for an ovarian ultrasound, and my doctor found a baby.  The only thing I had were sore breasts, and I noticed I had to urinate more often, but never took pregnancy into consideration.
I found out I was pregnant again on April 10, 2007 and I have had SEVERE nausea (luckily with no vomiting) and horrible adversions to food that I normally love.  I am also very tired all the time, my legs hurt, I'm having mild cramping, heartburn, bloating, and sore breasts again.  It's a complete 180 from the first pregnancy.  I wouldn't worry about not being sick; consider it a blessing. My doctor said every pregnancy is different, and just because I have  tons of symptoms this time doesn't make my last pregnancy any less significant. I also know that I didn't lose my first child because I had no morning sickness.
I thought I'd breeze through the first trimester again, and boy was I mistaken!  But, at the same time, I am also very thankful at another chance to have a baby, so I am trying to take all of the morning sickness in stride.  I'm currently 12.5 weeks, and I'm praying it will start to subside soon.  Good luck!

When I was pregnant with my first child, who is now 11 yrs old, I never got sick.  I felt a little nauseas at times like when I smelled broccoli cooking...ew!
But, I did actually throw up once...because I was taking medicine & didn't have enough to drink, but ate an apple.  Shortly afterward, I got sick.  My first pg was the easiest & the healthiest.  My first child was also the healthiest.  Very easy labor (1 hr 51 min)& quick delivery(12 min).  Hope the best of labor & delivery for you!

you should read the book protecting your baby to be! it says in there which makes perfect sense to me that the reason women get morning sickness is to warn you of poisons that are around you, whether it be something you ate or something that you smell that gives you a good run to the bathroom. SO you could think of it as though you are eating pretty healthy and you aren't around too many toxins! I wouldn't fret. I am 6 weeks pregnant and although feeling extremely nauseated, I still have yet to actually vomit! So what is that saying about me? I wouldn't worry about it so much. If I had pains so bad that I couldn't stand it then I would be more worried.

best wishes to you!!

I think the morning sickness thing is a wives tale. I have really bad morning sickness right now and the likelihood of this baby being ok are really small. I have an enlarged yolk sac (8mm), a slightly slow hb (118 at 6w6d), development that is 6 days behind and a subchorionic hematoma. From what I have read, the prognosis for my baby is very poor. But that hasn't stopped me from having terrible morning sickness.

Good luck with your baby. I hope everything turns out well.
