Just one last bit of info... you don't necessarliy have to start your period on the first day of the placebo pills. Everybody is different and it seems that since you just started that pill this month you didn't really know what to expect. I know before I was trying to get pregnant, I was on the pill and my period wouldn't start until day 3 of the placebo pills and I would still have my period for two days after starting the next month's pack. It's normal and I wouldn't worry about it.
Luckily my period finally started, I was just having a freak out moment. I take my pill at the exact same time every day and i haven't missed a day, so, yeah... but, i'll definitely remember to use a condom next time so that I have NOTHING to worry about at all.
thanks for your help though
Its very effective but if you miss it once or just started than it could be that it hadn't taken effect. Birth control does stop a baby that is already growing so if you started birth control it usually takes about 1 week to 30 days for it to start working so if you concieved before it did than it wouldnt stop you from being pregnant. Plus I know someone who was one birth control for a while who got pregnant on it. Its rare but it happens. Plus birth control can completely throw your cycle. I used to think I was pregnant all the time when I was on b/c because my periods were so irregular when I was on it.
But I am taking birth control... wouldn't that stop me from being pregnant?
It could be either or take a test and see what it says.
It's never a good idea to use the pull out method if you're worried about getting pregnant. It's not a 100% method. I would speak with the doctor and tell the doc whats going on. Just in case you are pregnant, you wouldn't want to be taking birth control.
