Like everyone said, everyone is different AND you sound like you are right on with the weight gain...I gained about 5 pounds by the end of my first trimester and was slow until like my 20th week...then I started to gain steadily and really look pregnant.

Everyone has a different body. I lost some weight (2 kg) prior to pregnancy as I was fasting and gained it back in the first few weeks of my pregnancy and so now my Dr keeps on telling me I've gained too much when I try to explain to her the situation! But then again, I was pretty petite in the first place and some of us petite girls gain much more ethan others.

I still fit into most of my normal tops (I'm 20 weeks 1 day today), and don't really look pregnant and my midwife told me, every one is different. There are some people who don't gain much and there are others who do sport practically on a daily basis, don't overeat and gain 20kg! Your body gains what it needs to. My sister gained only 6 kgs in her first pregnancy.

5 lbs during the first trimester is more then enough, they actually only reccomedn 2-4lbs. at 32 weeks i am only 12lbs heavier then preconception and my baby is right on track which is great since i have gestational diabetes

Dont Worry! as long as the baby is progressing normally you should be just fine... I didnt gain ANY weight until i was about 25 weeks..... the nurse used to ask me "man do you ever eat" LOL so just like  nsrchofbaby said, just maintain a healthy diet and you and baby should be just fine...

I don't think you should be TRYING to gain weight, just maintain a healthy diet. I actually lost 2 lbs the first trimester and have gained a total of 2.5 lbs through 22 wks. My baby is measuring a normal size and weight at this point. Again, just make sure you're eating healthy and your baby should be fine. Take care. :)

As long as the baby is growing and your dr isnt concerned that i would relax.  throughout my entire pregnancy i gained a total of  7lbs  and when my daughter was born she weighed exactly  7 lbs.  she is a happy 16 week old, and she still eats like a bird!
If you are concerned, talk to you dr at your next visit.  as long as your belly is matching the appropriate gestational age, you will be fine.
