Small baby..

I always knew I woulnt be having a big baby as im only slim myself, im 5'7 & am 8st 2. I weighed 6lb 3oz when I was born. Throughout my pregnancy I have been having growth scans & my mw told me my baby will probably weigh just over 5lb. At the moment he is weighing 5lb 2oz & I am 38wks 2days. His kicks/rolls are really strong.. I am just abit worried he is not going to be really healthy as he is small. My bump is not huge & is measuring 34cm. What do people think? Thanks.

I am currently goin thru the same thing...at 33 weeks my son was only measuring 3.6 and hes expected to be between 4-5lbs when I am induced in 3 weeks at 37 weeks. If everything is checking out fine and he is just small i would not worry!

I dnt believe the scans. the last month n half of my pregnancy doc said i was measuring small n so was baby i had to have weekly scans n nst done. My doc made me so sad n depressed i was a wreck becuz i just din understand y wen i had gained over 30lbs n my baby was active. They estimated him to b 5lbs or smaller at birth. my baby boy came out 8lbs 3oz so its hard for me to think u/s are accurate in weight or fundal height matters. Im also 5'6 or 7 with a long torso so he had lots of room in there. i hope u have the same outcome n if not baby will just b a tiny bundle of joy so good luck chicka hope baby comes out healthy ( :

Has me doing all if the cooking and cleaning and his grandpas girlfriend us always calling me lazy and everything like that. I am overdoing it living here. WE are on tanf right now and only get 400 a month they expect us to pay them 375 of that money plus but all of the groceries for the house. His grandpas girlfriend is very mean to our daughter too it is extremely frustrating. How can anyone live off of 25 dollars a month to pay for your child clothes and diapers? W are looking into finding a place that will charge a percentage of our income so w can get things for our son that is on the way and our daughter that will be 2 next month.

Bekie my baby is healthy its me who has multiple health problems this is why I am getting my tubes tied after this one. I love kids and would love to have more but being on best the whole pregnancy and trying to care for a toddler is very hard on me. I cry alot because I want to do more but can't. My hubby had to quit his job to care for me and our daughter so we are staying with his grandpa at the moment but I hate it here because they milk us for every dime we have and I have not been able to get anything for our son yet. It is so frustrating I just wish we could be on or own as a family now. His grandpa had me

Both my sons..one is now 5 and the other is still inside but they grow so quickly in the womb that the docs thought my first would be 11lbs and they are thinking a little over 9lbs with this one but as it turns out..my son was born at 7lbs.6oz and i cant decide if this one will be bigger or smaller. I dont over eat but i do eat much more protein and calcium than pre pregnancy and i think thats why my boys grow so quickly in womb. Just eat healthy..little babies dont mean they lack nutrition, just means they are little

A word of advice: stock up on newborn clothes!! My son was in newborns for 3 months. At 10 months, he still wears 3-6mo onsies and 0-3 months pants!

Just because baby is small does not mean unhealthy. My daughter was born 4lbs 10ozs and she was healthy. The doctors are estimating our son to be small too. I have to have growth scans constantly because he is measuring small but have many health problems that causes my baby to be small.

My son was 5lbs 6oz and completely healthy. Went home the same time as all the others born that day. He's 10 months and not even 17lbs yet but doc says he's following his growth chart perfectly. Small babies run in my hubby's family.

Great things come in small packages!!

Your baby may be healthy if its really a concern the doctors will ask you to breastfeed to give your baby the nutrients it needs. I was and 8Ibs baby myself and my baby is tiny but i rarely eat before i was pregnant and even now that im pregnant so i know ima probably have to get over not wanting to breastfeed. Anyways congratulations and hope everything goes well with delivery!!
