Someone help..HIV

So I went to my first appointment and I got an email from my online portal with my results. Under the "plan for treatment" it says HIV 1/ HIV 2 1 result antybody" I'm freaking out. I've been with the same man for over 3 years and I've been tested before at an annual exam and I had nothing...I'm literally about to have a heart attack and I can't stop crying. I havnt talked to the dr yet I'm waiting a little bit because I know the dr has to go over it...but I literally can't believe this is happening. Any women out there with HIV and pregnant? Or had a baby. My worst fear is giving it to my baby...I can't live with myself like this...someone please help

Just wanted to say even if u did have it i dont think it would mean ur babydaddy been cheating, sometime hiv and aids wont show up till 5 years after you already had it, so it would be hard to tell sometimes it wont even show till 10years. But im glad it was just a missd read thing, if i could count how many times thing like that has happened to me lol

Calm down hun you don't have HIV, they just tested you for it, the CDC would have contacted you by phone to let you know and would have asked you for the names of you partners so they could contact you, it's the law your going to be okay just breathe

I totally agree. They try to make it a positive thing to have an easier access to your history and documents and all it did was almost kill me because my blood pressure got so high. Im just glad everything is fine and my baby is good! Now I know not to even look at that stupid online crap! Im over it lol

You get these pregnant hormonal women reading these reports they provide for you and having it be the first thing I read when I woke up in the morning kinda freaked me out! Im glad I wasn't the only one who thought that was messed up, they said they had multiple complaints so hopefully they reword that. If I could show you how they put it I think it would make more sense as to why I freaked out lol

jfb,  I'm sorry you had to go through this.

This online thing is a huge problem.  There are people everywhere freaking out because they look at what tests were performed,  and those are listed,  but results are not.

This is a problem with technology outstripping the ability to control misinformation.  These forms are meant for doctor's eyes,  and they know what it means.

Patient's often don't.

That list should say "routine tests performed" and then "no result available yet".

Turns out I don't have anything except low vitamin D. I told the lady I almost had a heart attack because of the way they list their stuff and she said someone else also mentioned it but they can't change it for some reason?

So I looked at my report again online...I think I flipped out for no reason -_- the way they have it worded it looks like you have it...but really those are just the tests they have done. Im very very emotional as it is and kinds stressed out for a few things I've really learned to try and calm down for the sake of my baby but this set me over the edge and my Dr's office will hear from me about this. They send emails that scare the crap out of people like and out of all places a ob/gyn where women are pregnant reading these emails that make no sense lol. I looked at my history of tests and a couple years ago had the same tests done. But still scared the crap out of me. Please forgive me ladies and thank you all for the kind words...talk about having a heart attack first thing in the morning! Ugh

U should try and b calm until u speak to ur doctor hiv can be prevented from passing to ur baby, if it turns out positive I pray not get proper counselling on how it can be managed

Most babies actually don't get it these days thanks to modern medications, and good surgical practices, and treating baby with anti virals after birth...there is also a higher risk of a false positive during pregnancy, if that's what ur report say they will test you again..I wouldnt just leave your lover in less you know he cheated and got it but if he did I'd call it quits cause that just ain't right and he's got a lot of explaining to do. But you may just be reading it wrong. If it didn't say positive or negative clearly then I'd give your doctor a call maybe he will take a look sooner for you! Sorry ur going through this. Be strong.

If you have been with the same person for 3 years and have gotten tested before but now have it wouldn't that mean he's sleeping around?

No, I have never had it but would  say to just not think on it to hard just yet until consulting with your doctor. They will probably want to do a second blood work just to be on the safe side (there is human error out there)
If it's true, I would  honestly leave the man you are with for risking both yours and your babies life in such a selfish action. It's a lifetime thing you will suffer from and that he could  allow  this to happen is beyond any way of forgiveness. I do believe they will have to do a C section during delivery and can avoid  giving it to your baby but it will be hard avoiding your baby to get it. It can be spread with blood, so cuts will have to be covered at all times so your little one is ok.
I wish you nothing but the best luck

Try not to freak out to much until you know for sure. If you do have it there is a possibility that it can be passed on to your baby but if they know ahead of time that you have it they can do take extra measures to prevent it from getting to baby. If you do have it there are medications that can let you live a long normal life. Good luck!
