my sister said she used to get this also as a child eating carets, tomatos, strawberries and oranges i think its the acidicness in those foods that irritate fair skinned
I looked at pics of impatego and read about food allergies. It dont look like impatego. and the website for food allergy saids that if hes allergic to something it should show up within hours of eating it. Idk its weird..
it can be drool but looks more like it could be an allergy or impatigo, I know a little baby that it did not get bumpy but the outsie line is mroe concerning that it might need checked by a dr. Does he have any spots like circles on his tongue that you can see?
Impatigo is contageous and needs to be treated, and I would not kiss him on the mouth till it cleas if it is that, look it up in the search engine to see if it looks like any pictures of that. The picture you have shown is kinda fuzzy so it is just shooting in the dark kinda but I hope you get an answer soon and I second the neosporn or something to put on it!
oh oh i just remembered my sisters daughter used to get that when she was like six months when my sister would feed her some kind of gerber i think it was carets or something els (that i think tasted nasty any way) like that. When she would feed it to her a little would get around her mouth and kinda make a allergic reaction that looked just like that. ill try and get ahold of her to ask her.
Have you tried putting chapstick or vasoline on it to see if that clears it up?
My dd gets impantago on her chin sometimes....but the dr said it was from her binky. Impantago looks more like a blister.
It probably wouldn't hurt to get it checked by the dr just on the safe side since he's had it for a while.
My DD use to get rashes around her mouth when she was an infant, anytime she teethed now that I think of it..so, it is probably just where there is more drool, like when he is sleeping maybe?? does it come and go, or does it always seem to be there? I wouldnt worry too much, it could be something as simple as irratation from drool, wind chap, dry skin.....And honestly, looking at the picture, if I didnt know what I was looking for, I wouldnt have noticed it.
No discomfort at all. he doesnt focus on that area
i wouldnt worry too much about it until he's not drooling and teething so bad and see if it goes away and if it doesnt then i'd ask his doctor the next time you take him in for a check up. does it seem to cause him discomfort?
No binky. its so weird, I he gets lil red bumps around his mouth alot, but i figured its just from drool cause hes teething bad right now
it looks like from excess saliva
I forgot to mention his started when he was 4
My son who will be 13 this monday gets the same sort of thing your describing under his bottom lip ever year(sometimes multiple times) the doctors figured it was impatego or something in its family, with cream it clears up within a few days to a week. Likely the cream would take care of it.
