Surprises+Plan B = CrAzInEsS Please HELP!!!

I think I'm experiencing a somewhat uncommon course of events and I need help!  I'm tired of researching on the internet because it's DRIVING ME CRAZY and I haven't found anyone with exactly what I'm going through.  No one in my personal life can relate either.  Any thoughts, ideas, personal experiences to which I can relate, etc. would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!  Thanks so much in advance :).  You just might help me to have some peace of mind... :)

THE BREAKDOWN:

- Stopped birth control (for personal reasons) (Yaz Light) after only 2 months of being on it on Aug 17th.

- Period came Aug 23rd.

- Had intercourse 3:00 a.m. on Aug 31st and the condom broke (for the first time EVER!!)  I have to say I felt right then that I was going to get pregnant.

- 8:00 a.m. Aug 31st I noticed A LOT of very stretchy cervical mucous. It was partially solidified, and I figured this was probably due to not having ovulated in a couple of months.  I thought back to previous day and remembered the eggwhite stringy mucous.  THIS WOULD MEAN I OVULATED (OR WAS ABOUT TO) A FEW DAYS EARLIER THAN EXPECTED.  I found out this is possible due to quitting the birth control.

- I took Next Choice Emergency Contraception at 3:00 p.m. on the 31st and 12 hours later as directed.  (Honestly, I didn't really WANT to take it, but I did it out of respect for my partner who would definitely not be ready.  Tough decision :/ . )  When I took it, though, I thought "This stuff is not going to work."  LOL

- So I laid around in misery in my progesterone-induced false pregnancy for a few days.  I pretty much had every symptom that they claim to be so "uncommon".  I felt sick to my stomach. I cried and cried.  my breasts were sore. I was so tired all I wanted to do was sleep, I suffered aches and pains, fever, and an overall yucky feeling.  The whole time I kept thinking "I feel different.  Something about me has changed."  NOTE: I will NOT be taking that stuff again!

- From Sept 5-7th I had light to medium bleeding.  It was not like a period and even stopped and started again.  I assumed that this was due to rapidly falling levels of progesterone.  Another "very rare side effect of Plan B."  Riiiiiight.  I spotted the rest of the old blood from these 3 days for the next few days.

- At this point, my breasts are getting fuller and heavier feeling.  (I'm only about 105 pounds, so these changes are easy to notice.  I also think my weight may have something to do with how I tolerated the medication and my overall sensitivity to changes.)  I began experiencing my mouth watering and feeling sick.

- Sept 10th and 11th:  One red spot of blood each day.  I'm not kidding- one.  That's it.

- Sept 14th - 16th:  Shooting pain in my left ovary, cramping I thought would be onset of period, some low back pain.  Also sleeping a great deal this week.  I don't know if I'm physically tired or if I'm stressing myself out so much that I need to sleep it off.

***IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PERIOD:*** Technically I would expect my period On Sept 21st or 22nd.  HOWEVER, I thought that since I seemed to have ovulated early, then maybe I should get my period sooner (like the 14th.)  Since, supposedly, it's only the first portion of the woman's cycle (leading up to ovulation) that varies while the second half (leading to onset of menstrual cycle) is consistently between 12-16 days.  (ANYONE EXPERIENCE ANYTHING DIFFERENT THAN THAT?)

- Sept 18th (yesterday) I started having light bleeding.  It's very thin, very light in flow (it would have taken all day or longer to fill a pad and most of it was from wiping), and (I kid you not) almost hot pink in color!  Okay, it varies from hot pink to orange.  STRANGE! LOL  As of this morning, it's pretty much gone.  My breasts still ache, my nipples look larger to me, and I see the veins more easily.

- Today, 9/19  Negative pregnancy test using first morning urine.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING THIS FAR.  Okay, so I'm a super analytic person by nature (if you can't tell), and I have all these ideas floating around in my head because things just don't add up!

1) Did the Plan B work?  I felt like I was going to be the 1 out of 8 women for whom it doesn't.  (Honestly? Some of this is coming from dreams I had prior to all of this happening about positive pregnancy tests and such.  I kind of took it as a sign, although it could have been a heads-up.)  It would make sense it could fail if the egg had been fertilized before I took the EC.  Then again, if I DID ovulate then, then shouldn't my period have come, and if I'm pregnant, wouldn't I have a positive result by now?

2) Am I now experiencing implantation bleeding?  It could be if I didn't ovulate until after the Plan B was out of my system, but that would be pushing it for the sperm to survive all that time.  If I did ovulate then, and the egg WAS fertilized, then implantation bleeding at 16 dpo seems kind of late...

3) Should I expect my period when it's supposed to be here or did ovulation or Plan B throw me off?  let me say that I'm normally very regular- 28.5 days.  According to websites MOST women get their periods on time, some a week early and some a week late.  Bla bla bla.  (Yeah, and RARELY does someone spot in the meantime, but I did that too.)  So what gives?

4) What is happening to me?  I don't feel like myself.  I'd bet money that I'm pregnant.  At the same time, I'm looking at the odds and going  HUH?????  Seriously, What are the odds of ovulating early, having sex during an unexpected high fertility period, having the condom break for the first time EVER (I'm 30, by the way, so I have a little experience with condoms by now.), taking Plan B and having it fail, etc etc etc.  Then again, The odds were low that I'd experience all of those horrible side effects.  I just feel like I'm tempting the odds here.  Sometimes I feel like I'm just dealing with a miracle and should shut up and just let it happen.

Thanks for letting me babble.  I guess I needed to.  Has anyone been through something like this?  I really do want a baby despite my actions of emergency contraceptive.  (My only child is now 10 and I've been wanting another for 8 years now...)  I was trying to respect my partner's wishes.

HAVE YOU:

1) Used Plan B and gotten pregnant anyway?  Did you experience anything like this?

2) Experienced later than usual implantation?

3) Ovulated early and still have a period come on time?

4) Had similar bleeding?

Again, anything you have to share would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance for all of your help!

:) :) :)

Thanks very much, ladies.  I appreciate your kindness, quick responses, and your down-to-earth advice.  I needed someone to snap me out of it.  LOL  I guess wanting something so very badly can give a person false hope.  Now I need to just let it go so I can be sad about it and get on with my life.  It breaks my heart, BUT at least I can quit obsessing and get back to NORMAL.  (Well, as soon as my BODY decides that we can do that.  Anytime now, body.  That would be great!)

SUNKISSED: Thanks for the thoughts on my organization and writing.  I'm a teacher by trade ;).  LOL  As far as the "finding a partner who wants to make a baby" comment, I'm working on that.  If this had resulted in pregnancy the circumstances would have been less than ideal.  We'll just leave it at that. :)

Hey, who knows.  Maybe in the not-too-distant future I'll be back to gush about how excited and overjoyed I am because I finally have a baby on the way!  :) :) :)  Here's hoping!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Lots of Love,
Me

I agree with the other ladies as well. I doubt very much you're pregnant. The symptoms you had aren't actually that uncommon. Neither is spotting after taking the pills. Many women will experiance both or one of these.  As sunkissed said, a blood test would tell without doubt if you really are or not.

I agree with Spade on all accounts (she's usually right)

I also have to mention that's one one H ell of a post! very organized and properly written...we need more women like you on the site so we all don't go crazy with all the less than amusing " am i pregnant" posts.

Goodluck, i hope you find your answer soon, but i would also go with Spade and say that I too would "bet money" on you not being pregnant. If you wish to be pregnant again it would probably be in your best interest to find a partner who would also like to make a baby :)

the other thing i would suggest is if you're really, totally and completely freaking out then i would suggest getting a blood test. No if, and's or what's about it with that one.

My first pregnancy I used the morning after pill the morning after and still ended up getting pregnant. What I know about the morning after pill is it is only 85% effective.

That's quite a post!

1) plan b is 75% effective and pregnancy can usually be detected about 14 days after conception.  Since you got a negative 19 days after unprotected sex with first morning urine it is not likely you are pregnant. Test again in a week to confirm

2). No.  Implantation bleeding occurs about 5 days after conception.

3) it's impossible to know.  Plan b can absolutely through off your cycle though.

4). I would bet money that you are not pregnant.  Plan b and the stress this event has caused can easily account for all your symptoms.
