Testing

Just found out I'm pregnant with my second. Doctor wants to run a bunch of tests including HIV. I don't think I have anything to worry about but for some reason it still scares me. I don't remember testing for that with my first pregnancy. Anybody else get tested for this? Is it mandatory now?

in NC it is a state law that they have to check for any std's including HIV and gonorrhea.. it is just precaution. Hey i would rather them check just because things happen in life and you just never know. Dont freak yourself out. Im sure everything is fine but its just better to be safe then sorry!!

idk if they tested me they just said they need to take some blood thats it and i didnt tell them to test cuz ive only been with one guy and hes clean and i totally trust him he would never cheat on me

They took seven little tubes from me and told me a million things they tested for, and h.I.v was included

I was totally thinking about last time too. I have a feeling they did but they've never mentioned anything. It's driving me crazy.

Chances are you were tested for it last time. I've been with the same man for a couple years and actually had my doc check me for everything right before when me and him got together because my ex was cheating. I was clean and the man I'm with is too. And we have nevrr been with anyone else since, they still check.

My Dr said you are supposed to get tested for it just to be safe and because now days so many babies are born with HIV or gonorrhea. It is scary but it is just to make sure the baby isn't going to be growing into an infected uterus

I got tested for everything under tge sun that could be harmful to baby lol. No worries, just relax =)
