Ultrasound confusion

I was given an ultrasound at 13 wks 2 days and I was told that the CRL was at 15 wks 4 days but that the FL was consistent with my dates at 13 wks 5 days. I was wondering if this means that I am actually 2 weeks farther along or if I should go with the FL since it is most consistent with my LMP. Also, I was told by a nurse that the FL is more accurate than the CRL when measuring fetal age and that my baby may just be big.

Oops got my terms backwards.. but i'd go by the one they gave by measuring the baby. Usually LMP is just the date they use until the ultrasound confirms the age of your baby.

FL if it equals femur length, they check that when you're farther along in 2nd trimester i believe, to see the growth of the baby instead of crown to rump length. I asked my doctor about that once before. She said that usually the first due date they give you measuring the crown to rump length is the correct one, because in later stages of pregnancy babies grow at different rates, and that doesn't necessarily mean that the inside of them is at the same week their size is. So I'd say that the FL one isn't as correct as the CRL.

Totally for ratings!!! They know America enjoys that part the best. So I always try to figure out who is truly bad and who is actually good but faking it just to get on TV.

LOL. I love to watch that part......hehe I dont feel bad, some of those people have to know how bad they sound!!! I didnt know they had to go though 3rows before they see paula,ect.......Thats just stupid, then why do they let the "really bad" people in......For rating.....

Ha ha!!! That is definitely my fave part as well. But then I always feel bad for laughing at the bad singers.

I know a girl who tried out and she has the MOST AMAZING and clear voice. She's done back up singing on some CDs (can't remember who). She didn't make it past the first round (there's like 3 rounds before you actually see Randy, Paula, and Simon). They told her "You don't have the image we're looking for. But if you'd like to sing bad then we can put you through to the last round and maybe you'll be on TV."

Um, nope! They surely don't. CRL is the most accurate in dating a baby in utero.

I think it might be Femur length.........But I dont think they use all that to date us?

Maybe Full Length, mamaofonetrying42?

Sonographers don't typically measure full length because it isn't accurate since baby is curled up as it is.

I think CRL is Crown-rump length of the baby not to sure what FL is....

But if your due date changes your dr. will let you know, and a few days dont make much of a different

Well, all the acronyms aside, you can only go by the due date your doctor decides, so don't sweat it.

Don't understand your acronyms--- CRL and FL are the only ones I don't understand.
