So my question is: Is that nor.? Is that all they were to do? I thought that they would do a exam or test my blood or ur.?? Is that all they were to do? im just having 2nd thoughts about this doc. Because after my d&c was done and I was in recovery He did even come in the room and talk to me about how everything went not even to my hb who was waiting. I dont know if he had a emg. or something> Any thoughs??

Hello,

I can share with you what I do with my own patients.  After a D&C, I would see them back ~ two weeks after the procedure, review the pathology report and discuss their future reproductive plans at that time.  If they were without complaint (e.g., no heavy bleeding or abdominal pain) I would not repeat a pelvic exam.

Best regards,

Dr. Downing

The check up after the d&C is mostly to answer questions and guage if maybe the patient is needing some extra help dealing.  That's just my opinion.  I never really asked him what the appt was for, from th nature of conversation and questions I just assumed that's what it was...

After my d&c I didn't see my doctor, but he did go and talk to my husband and family in the waiting room, and he talked to me right before the surgery. At the check up not much happened, we mostly just talked about what happened and where we go from there. I love my doctor and think he's wonderful and don't think my check up was weird at all. Hope that helps!
