What is is like to have a c-section?

How do they numb you?
How does it feel to stand up and walk for the first time?
Do the staples hurt?
Does it hurt to clean them?
What about getting them taken out?
What are the restrictions?
Healing process?

They suck honestly! Staples dont hurt to bad nor getting them out. But life in general after that ***** especialy trying to take care of a newborn. They say walking helps the healing but it hurts so bad. Its the worst thing ive gone through and ive been through alot. Im due for my second one in april and im only doing it because my boy is measuring like 3 weeks ahead and i dont want to risk my uterus rupturing which could kill us both. But its all worth it in the end its just hard and very painful. Id never op for ine unless i had to so dont if u can do natural. And restrictions for me were no sex for 4-6 weeks and no working out hard for about 6 months. And you are awake for it i felt everything. Not pain but just uncomfortable and tugging and when they took him out i lost my breath but its not the end of the world even if it feels it is. And one more thing i never got feeling back in that part where they cut me. And i wasnt prepared so if u have a chance to prepare dos. Ask a million questions lol my was emergency so i didnt have a chance. But im ready for it all again in april.

Every answer above me is correct. Except i did have staples! I got them removed two weeks after which kinda hurt. Wear underwear to your belly button because nothing can touch it while healing

I just had my 2nd csection 2 weeks ago. I had a spinal block with my first to numb me and they checked me with ice to make sure I couldn't feel a thing below the breasts before starting anything, the 2nd time the spinal didn't work so they put me to sleep for a little while. Both times the nurses helped me stand and walk the next day. They told me how to get put of bed in a way that minimised pain and made sure i didnt faint. It hurts a bit the first time but the more you walk and move around the better. I didn't have staples with either. Healing process has been great, both times a week later I have been out shopping with baby and back to my normal routine but carefully, but everyone is different. Good luck!

Forgot about the restriction part, you can't lift anything, they won't let you carry the baby in the car seat for 2-3weeks after and of course no lifting heavy stuff.

I havent had one but my sis has and these were her answers
1- they give u a spinal u dont feel a thing although u will feel pressure and pulling and pushing but no pain.
2- she didnt have staples had a stitch strip.
3 & 4 again she didnt have staples so cant answer that.
5- to relax as much as possible, no lifting and when coughing and sneezing and such hold a pillow on ur stomach helps to ease pain.
6- healing process depends on the person my sister took 4wks to go bak to most normal activities although some women heal very quicky.
hope we helped a little
goodluck

They numb you with a needle in your back, if you take the pain meds every few hours before you start hurting it does not really feel any different when walking. I did not have staples so I can't answer that. I had dissolvable stitch tape stuff that pealed off on its own after a week. I as told to just run warm water over it to keep it clean while it was healing. The healing process is different for everyone.
