What the heck is going on?

Ok let me first start off by saying that this is NOT a pregnancy question. I've had the paraguard iud got the last 2 1/2 years and its worked perfectly! However, I'm having the strangest cycle right now and I'm wondering if anyone can give me insight into it. I get my period every 28 days like clockwork. This month around the time of ovulation I started my summer workout routine after a couple months of nothing. Within the first couple of days at night when I'd go home and wipe I'd have a lot of discharge and a small amount of light pink blood in it. Lasted 2-3 only at night and only one time until the next night. Then when it came time for my period to he here I missed it. It's been a week since it was supposed to be here. Two days ago while doing crunches at the gym I got horrible cramps and figured my period was starting. Got home and had some pink/orange blood when I wiped. Stuck in a tampon and went to bed and when I woke up there is almost nothing on the tampon but a little brown blood. Went the whole day without bleeding and then the same thing happened at the gym again. That night when I went home there was pink and then red blood. Again put in a tampon. Woke up this morning and the tampon had barely anything on it again (light flow tampon not regular or heavy) but what I did have was red and brown and only on one side. What is going on? I know that exercising can mess with your cycle but I have NEVER had exercising do this to my body before and I usually exercise all the time except during winter.

You could test just to rule out a possible pregnancy but I had the paragard for a year and my periods were like clock work also so that is a little strange you didn't really have a period I do know some women end up not having a period while on bc but that shouldn't happen with the paragard bc it's non hormonal as I'm sure you know so I would just take a test just to be safe! Good luck
