antidepressants during pregnancy?

I'm 38wks on Friday and was prescribed Bupropian(Wellbutrin), an antidepressant by my OB last week. I've been told by him and by other's that this late in pregnancy it will cause 0 or little side effects in my baby. I'll be breastfeeding too. I just feel guilty almost for taking something, but I didn't know what else to do. I was at my wits end. Are any other moms in this boat? And if so did it effect your baby?

I took it a couple years ago, and had to stop because it caused me to have suicidal thoughts. I have been really depressed, but I am too scared to ask for medication because of that.

I take prozac as well. I am currently 33 weeks 1 day.....baby is doing great and so am I. I went off mess at the beginning of my pregnancy it wasn't good. I need them .....sad to say I was nervous about taking them but our mental health also affects our babies. Hugs.

Ive been on prozac for a few years and my first was perfectly healthy. Im still on it with my second and everything seems to be progressing just right. Dont feel guilty about getting help. This medicine will make things just that much easier with your last bit of pregnancy and after the child is born if you feel better you can always stop taking it. I know that these meds work well and are very safe. Keep your head up girl everythings gonna be alright :)

I'm 13 weeks and I also take Wellbutrin. Maintaining your mental health is critical for a healthy Mom and healthy baby. This med has been tested on pregnant woman and has been labeled safe during pregnancy. I've done a lot of research on the meds that my doctor has deemed safe for me during pregnancy. :) I think you're doing the right thing by seeking help opposed to letting your depression become a problem that is too big to manage later. Best of luck. :)
