Not at all!! He can't tell from fundal height, babys position, placenta, fluids can cause that to be off.. my previous doctor was "never wrong" guess babies weight from fundal height and said my son was going to be about 6lbs, he was almost 9.. so don't worry about that at all!
I had my 37 week apt thurs too an ask the same thing. He said btw 6-7 lbs from feeling her but its an educated guess it can b off a little bit
I havent had a u/s since 20wks... he est. From my fudel height and size. I Thought they could tell from that??
Has your fundal height been off at all? And it also depends on the U/S tech, some don't do the most accurate measurements, either, which can throw it off, and if your doctor isn't concerned I wouldn't be either. Babies gain about 1/2lb or more a week, so if your little one gains that and is 4lbs, he/she will be about 6lbs at birth, which is a very normal average weight, so don't stress! :)
No he didn't he's a very laid back dr. So I thought everything was fine until reading around. Im a ftm so I wasnt sure if it was normal being that small
Between 4-6lbs is pretty average for this stage. Remember it can be off up to 1-2lbs, I wouldn't stress about it. I had my 34w u/s last week and my little girl was weighing 6lbs 4ozs, which is pretty big..did your doctor mention that he thought it was a cause for concern?
