Ultrasounds can be odd by a pound either way. They are really just an estimate. I have seen moms
Opt for a section because they were told baby was 9 or 10 lbs and the baby comes out 7 and they could have delivered vag. Don't stress about the ultrasound weight. Seriously.
They say not to really pay attention to that until you are a little further along, At 20 weeks my baby was measuring 1lb 3oz already which is ALOT for 20 weeks, but when i went to my 28 week growth scan he was only 2lbs 10oz. They say babies have different growth spurts. They also said give or take 6oz...so i dont know lol. I wish they had an accurate system so we would all be prepared if our babies were 9lbs+!
That would be awesome to get an ultrasound done at each visit. With my first I got 2 and with this one I will be getting 3 my last one will be here in a couple weeks. I have the ultrasound photos saved as well. Putting them in their baby book for like you said when they get older.
my basic visit is get weighed, pee in a cup, and then check blood pressure, then my doctor always asks how I'm feeling and feels my ankles for swelling and then I get usually 2 pictures ( black, gray, and white) of my baby he uses the machine to measure and that's about it for now. My doctor does an ultrasound every time I go .. so I have quite a few that I'm keeping to show her when she gets bigger and understands I think it would be neat if my mom had mine still. My doctor hasn't measured my uterus but I guess instead of getting out the measuring tape he does it with the ultrasounds Idk every doctor sure is different.... I just figured she might be a big baby since me and my fiance were big babies too... As long as she's healthy I'm happy... :)
They told me i was measuring 4 weeks ahead it ended up being all fluid!
Oh I see that's cool. The only thing my doc does is listen to the heart rate and measure my uterus and just answers any questions I may have.
He measures the middle of her stomach, leg bones, and head and somehow the machine he has says a " estimated weight" he's been doing it years so I guess he knows what he's doing
How does the doctor weigh the baby? Ultrasounds or something? I'm 31+ 3 and have no idea the weight of my baby.?
My son measured 2 weeks ahead and weighed 3.9 pounds at 29 weeks. I went back two weeks later, and he measured a few days ahead instead of weeks but gained an entire pound. My doctor said not to panic just yet over size so we shall see!
Mine is measuring in at 3lbs10 oz
