bartholin cyst during pregnancy

Hello ladies. Please respond. I am 11 wks + 5 days. I have had a bartholin cyst off & on for almost 3 years. It's been drained twice. Since I've been pregnant it's gotten bigger and has been draining a green colored mucus (sorry tmi). I've expressed concern to my midwife and she didn't seem to think it was a big deal. I don't see how green discharge isn't an issue! Should I get a 2nd opinion? Will this hurt my baby? It's been so worrisome :( :(

As long as it is draining it's a good sign, even though it's green. Odds are any infection is already "walled off" by your body and being expelled. Keep the area clean and if it starts getting red and hot or you get a fever get it checked out right away.

I had one and mine must have burst during labor because mine isn't there anymore.. although I'm not sure if one with green mucous would be cause for concern during delivery because mine was yellow. Ask your doctor about it :)

My mother had a cyst like this and the only reason it became a problem is bcuz it wasnt draining and became very painful. She had surgery to remove it while pregnant with my sister. My guess is if its draining and you keep area clean there should nor be a problem. If you get fever and the area bcomes hot to touch and looks infected then id suggest seeing a doctor.

I've been taking the salts baths and putting hot towels on it. She thinks if it's draining on it's own there's really nothing more they can do.  It's just scary because I know anything green is a bad sign :( thanks for your advice!!

I'd get it checked an infection is not good when pregnant. Are you doing the salt baths regularly? That may help (:

I feel your pain I got a few when I was prego ( drained myself) and oweeee those things are a Pain. Green is usually a sign of infection.. but if she didn't seem worried about it I'd say its fine. But if you don't feel comfortable with her answer you could always get it checked out again by someone else. It wouldn't hurt
