Hey what kind of birth control are you considering after birth??? Has anyone ever been on the depo shot? How did your body react? My friend has done the depo shot two different times and each time she has gained alot of weight with it, anyone else experience weight gain? I would like to do the depo shot bc I know I cant remember to always take the pill but I already have a hard time losing weight any advice???

I'm planning on getting an IUD. I don't do well with hormonal birth control so I'm going to try the copper one. I had a friend who had the depo shot and she gained weight with it and it never came off until after she stopped getting it.

The Depo made me gain 40lbs of impossible weight. It took me 2 years to lose a pound. Worst decision of my life.

I took Ortho-tricylen for 10 years, which was wonderful.I never had any Cramps or heavy bleeding. I'll be taking them again until I officially decide to get the Essure coils for Permanent sterilization.

Hopefully you'll make the best decision for yourself.

My sister was on the depo shot for a year and gained a lot of weight. She has been off of it for a year and has not had a period. She doesn't have insurance and no money for all the tests, but her doctor thinks it may have made her infertile. Very rare, but it can happen.

I was on depo for a little over 2 years and got pregnant twice. (they dont recommend you stay on it over two years, so take a break after 2 then get back to it.) when I got off depo I was pregnant within a month, it didnt make me gain weight, but I exercised a lot and never lost a pound. I blame depo. But other than that, I didnt get a period and that was nice (: &no big symptoms after the first shot! (:

and I've heard several times it's hard to conceive again after the shot to, butmaybe I'm the only one who wants 5 kids lol
