bleeding week after conception

I recently found out that I am 4 weeks pregnant. I am worried that I may have had a missed miscarriage as I had a heavy bleed after sex about a week after what would have been the date of conception. The pregnancy tests I have taken were all taken just over a week after this bleeding happened. Is it possible that this has happened? It will be another 6 weeks until my first scan and I can't stop worrying.

Thanks for your help

Hi!
I can't help you to stop worrying--even after they are born, you still worry about them!
BUT  would your provider be willing to do hormone levels for you?  Lets say your quantitative HCG level is 2000 today--in 48 hours it will be approximately 4000 if everything is going normally.  Sometimes the values come back really high (like 20,000) and then it isn't worth doing the repeat, but the high value itself is a good sign.
Also, if you only had the one episode and nothing further and your tests are still positive--that is pretty hopeful!

Good luck!

If you bled at the date of conception then you shouldn't worry.
The time to worry is when you bleed after conception, if you were to start bleeding now. Try not to worry! I know it is hard, I am 5 weeks and so scared.... i miscarried my first, then had a little girl so this is pregnancy #3 and hopefully baby #2.
Sara, if you are having clots and heavy bleeding it doesn't sound too good. Sorry to be a bummer. Plus, the pain. Miscarriage pain is really strong cramping and sometimes backache as well.
I don't know what EPAC is... but 2 weeks is a long time to not know anything for sure. If that isn't your Dr then call your Dr tomorrow morning.

I am having the same problem. im 6 weeks and bleeding very bad with little clots and pain. i was sent to EPAC yesterday morning and they did an internal scan. says

There is a tiny 4 x 2mm, cystic area within the endometrium, close to the endocervical area. too small to see visible contents. Query early gesation sac. both ovaries appear ultasonically normal, no adnexal masses or free fluid seen.
suggest rescan in 2 weeks for progress.

I am a little unsure what this means, but im trying to to worry about it, but in the back of my head i am really scared.

Any help would be very great.
