I don't want to even start to worry myself about herpes or anything crazy like that. is it possible that it's nothing? I always here that cold sores are herpes, so I don't know how to react any advice or opinions?

You can get cold sores on your hands, feet, lips and gentials. The herpes simplex virus also known as the cold sore virus consist of two different types, type 1 and 2. How you have been given the virus depends on the type you have. It something that lies dormant in your system until your immune system is low. So many people have them and they are extremely contagious, which is why its so easy to get them, especially when you are pregnant. So yes, cold sores no matter where you get them are a form of the Herpes simplex virus.

Yes if you've had cold sores once you will always have them, pregnancy lowers your immune system which leaves you more susceptible to them. Prenatals boost your immune system but they only help so far.

missing your prenatals has nothing to do with you getting a cold sore . your immune system is out of whack which is causing you to have a break out

I had never had one before, ever. I work out in the dirt and dust all day, so I'm chalking it up to that and skipping my prenatal to make me feel better. :)

I have them. Always have. The past couple weeks ive had them non stop. I was wondering the same thing(about them being common in pregnancy) they are a form of herpes but not the kind your thinking of. However... they are contagious and once you get them (i dont know abiut during pregnancy) you always have them. Not constantly but the bacteria or whatever it is, is in you.. not to freak you out. Just trykng to givebyou some knowledge. I refuse to kiss ky bf when i have them just cause i dont want him to get them too. They are super annoying to deal with.. just do some research and youll know what your dealing with...

Unfortunately a cold sore is a manifestation of the herpes virus. It is herpes simplex 2. You will never cure it, but you can get rid of it for a while. You can buy over the counter meds, or go see your Dr.
It is very important to never kiss your baby while you have a cold sore or a month after it has gone. Baby's immune system is nowhere near mature enough to fight the virus and they can end up seriously ill in the hospital.
It is common to get flare ups when your immune system is compromised, which it is during pregnancy. Your body is trying so hard to protect your growing baby that it can't fight off infections as well as it used to.

I have one too!  I didn't take my prenatals this weekend, so I'm hoping if I keep taking them this week that it'll go away before I have to work this weekend... -_-

I used to get them all the tim as a kid. Idk about the whole herpes thing but i know now i only get them if i forget my prenatal. Take your prenatal and if that doent work try vit b. My dentist used to give me vit b for thembecause he couldnt work on my mouth at the risk of popping them and that cleared them up in a day or two
