coloring hair?

My mom is so old school and says it's not good to color your hair when your pregnant. Any thoughts, I'm 18 weeks I want to do it in 2 weeks.

Semi permanent is ammonia free but it also doesn't stay in your hair very long.  That's why its called semi permanent.  I'm a hair stylist and my doc told me dont color your hair more than twice in your pregnancy.  If it makes you feel good about myself (like it does with me) then I say do it.  :).

If your worried wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth to keep you from smelling the fumes.  That's what I did when I got highlights the other day and it made me feel better about it.  :)

There isn't any hair color that can harm the baby. But it can come out different to how you expected because the changing hormones during pregnancy can affect the way the color comes out. Same with perms or chemical straightening. Due to your hormones the chemicals may react strangely and have adverse effects. But no, you won't hurt your baby. I am a qualified stylist, so I know what I'm talking about. If you really are worried about the smell then open the Windows up.

Well your mom is right its not "good" because its unneccessary chemicals but as long as youre in a well ventilated area and use ammonia free dye it wont harm the baby
