The 12 week one wasn't as invasive. The 18 week one does a lot more measurements and checkes for a lot more. And no, they weren't done at the same one.
I don't understand how they were able to get an u/s at 12wks but not at 20? Was the 2 u/s taken at the same place?
I'm just trying to not freak out. I just keep looking at my 12 week u/s pic because I see a perfectly healthy baby.
I'm overweight too and it always feels Luke they are digging to china at my U/S. But our tech around here are always rough like that! I wouldn't worry about it. Like the other ladies posted there could of been several reasons....most likely they little one didn't want to be seen that day! Try and relax especially at the follow up scan. If your tense and the baby feels that they may not cooperate and be a no show again! Best of luck dear!
I had one at 18wks and baby was not co-operating so I had to go back at 22wks. It was just that they can't get all the measurements that they need. I was told to have juice before the last one so that baby was moving around lots and they could get all the photos that they need for the anatomy scan. She had to push fairly hard at the last one to get everything but tell them if it hurts. I ended up with a giant bruise from it, it hurt for a week after. She just kept apologizing for having to push on me.
It's most likely just how baby was laying in your belly hun...I'm overweight also!! My first u/s kinda hurt @ 9wks but my other one @ 17 wks was fine and tech didn't have any issues! Try to not stress hun!! You've had enough of that so far!!! ;-)
its just sometimes the babys not in the right possition to get all the measurements they need so they make u have another u/s dont stress over it coz if they saw something wrong they would tell u thats y they want to do another u/s. x
Im sure everything is fine, probably just allowing the baby to grow a bit. Im not over weight but the tech had some issues because my son has his back to my belly and my placenta is backwards. She kept having me drink and pee. The u/s took a lot longer than it should have.
I'm overweight & didn't have a problem at my u/s. I'm thinking maybe the baby's position. I did notice that the u/s was uncomfortable w/ the pressure applied.
I'm really over weight. UK size 24 but apart from them having to push hard they never had a problem. At one point they asked me to roll onto my side but that was it. Look on the bright side at least u get to see your baby again in a few weeks!
I drank too much water it pushed the baby behind my belly button. Then when I had to pee a bit out I couldn't stop lol
Im overweight they have to push down extremely hard on me to see the baby. Maybe the baby was just far back. I always drink water or juice before an u/s to push the baby up more
The tech said everything is okay. It was just hard to see but I'm freakin out
