I agree with Lady. Depression is not dependent on the sex of the baby but is rather brain chemistry and reaction to hormones. Many women do have an increase in things like depression. It is best to tell your doctor as Lady suggests and they will want to know to keep an eye on this. A notoriously difficult time in terms of emotions and clinical depression is right after the baby is born, called post partum and doctors take this very seriously. They will want to treat you if this is the case. So, it is good to begin the history of what is going on now with your doctor.
Physical exercise is one of the natural ways to combat depression. It releases the body's own 'happy chemical' and helps with mood. Take some nice walks if you are allowed or up to it, do a light exercise class, etc. Keep a journal which helps release feelings and is a good place to 'put them' and you can then look back to help track if it is cyclic or if there is any pattern. Spend time with other people. all of these things help.
good luck
And thats why its best to get help now. A screaming baby that you cant calm when you havent had any sleep in anywhere from 12-36hrs sometimes will not make you feel better momma. I know depression is hard. I know those suicidal thoughts. since you are losing so many loves ones and so much support now you really need to speak to your dr so you can get the right support for yourself for you and for baby.
I'm having a boy and I been really depressed since I been pregnant to I been wanted to die and commit suaside but I know that's not my place to do only gods... but I been losing a lot of ppl in my life that i care about to that may have some affect to. I lost my best friend this year and my godmom. Then my mom been sick to the point she may not be here much longer. My grandparents passed away a few years back and my dad. I cry almost everyday I'm so depressed and I'm 32 weeks.
Depression doesnt happen because your baby is a boy or girl. You should speak to a medical professional, depression can lead to post partum depression which tends to cause mothers to harm their children. Its best to get professional help as soon as possible. Good luck momma.
