I am 7 weeks pregnant with alot of burning in my shoulder joint for the past few day. Is this a sign of etopic? I have no other symptoms beside pain in shoulder joint? I had a miscarriage in July 07. My doctor is closed due to the holiday today.Should I be concerned?

Hello,

Blood under the diaphragm (and thus, inside your abdomen) can cause shoulder pain.  We called this referred pain.  It also can be the result of gas in the bowel.  If you were bleeding from an ectopic pregnancy you could have such symptoms, but you'd like have had others first, such as nausea, abdominal or pelvic pain, vaginal bleeding.

If you otherwise feel well, perhaps it is simply shoulder pain, or from gassy bowels.  An exam will likely be quite helpful.

Best regards and happy New Year.
