fetal heart rate

I went for my first ob apt. 2 weeks ago. I was aprox. 7 weeks. The dr. told me the baby had a low heart rate and I needed to come back. The heart rate was 117. I am now 8 weeks. What is a normal heart rate at this stage. And what are the causes of low rates?

Hello,

A normal heart rate is between 120-160.  Occasionally a normal pregnancy will result in a fetus with a heart rate slightly outside this range (110s or 170s).

Best regards,

Dr. Downing

Heart rate should be 160 is what I remember from when I was pregnant. The nurses told me that. Good luck!. I hope everything is alright.
