I'm not getting the flu shot. There are just so many different strands of the flu. I'll get the other shots like the whooping cough and so on but not the flu. I'm 36 weeks and my doctor hasn't even mentioned it. The only thing he does mention is if I'm registered at the hospital and been reading on labor and delivery lol.

Honestly iv done lots of research on shots  not only for myself but my children also and iv read articles that state that they have never actually done a study on the flu shot and how it can effect pregnant women or their baby .. my dr w my first or now w my second has never even mentioned the flu shot to me .its ur choice ... I hate it when ppl try to tell u how u should take care of ur body and take care of your child

I don't understand why you ask questions if your going to be rude and disrespectful towards others. It is because I can talk and because I have a child that I am able to make my own decisions. Just because one doesn't agree with your decisions does not make any of us sound "arrogant." In that case one can conclude that you are uneducated and ignorant. Don't make assumptions  about others who you don't know. Like I said every body is different and should be treated differently. What is going go be good for your immune system isn't going to be for others. To each their own, and I respect that. Bye.

Im not getting it after all. And it doesnt make anyone "arrogant" if anything it makes u sound arrogant cuz obviously u cant speak or think for ur self or ur child. Im the adult. Im the parent. I knoe my body and my immume system bettrr than ANYONE. Im not gunna listdn to a dr iv mrt once for 5 minutes try to bs me into doing somethimg iv always been against becausr HE chooses to get it. Of course from his veiw he encouragrs it becuz hes forved to get it  becuz hes a dr. Iv not even haf a cold in years. Last year i had strep throat. Conpletely non related or effrcted by the flu. In the past if i get sick its a 2 day sorr throat caugh type thing. I think thr last tume i haf a fever was like ten years ago. And by the sounds of it people have been severly sick WITH the flu shot so im not getting it. Thanks everyone for giving ur opinion.

Its you're own choice. I've seen people get the flu after the shot. I also see people get the shot and never get the flu. During pregnancy you're immune system is weaker and if you get the flu it cancause you to lose the baby is how my Dr explained it to me. She was nice and let me make my own choice. I haven't got it but since I'm gonna be pregnant through the entire winter and I get colds easy I might go ahead and get it. But really its your choice.

I don't think I am an "arrogant" individual just because I did not do any research upon getting the vaccine. I've always gotten the shot and have never been sick from it. That is my personal choice and mine only as an adult. My child will be getting all the vaccines, that I feel are necessary for him. There is no need to bash anyone. If you don't want to get it or allow your child to do so it's your choice. Each body reacts differently and should be treated differently. What is good for one isn't going to be good for others.

I have never got the flu shot. Me and my family are against some of vaccines due to fact that we all never had the flu but I know people who got the flu shot then got the flu. They are actually putting the disease in your body in my opinion. But now that im pregnant when they asked if I wanted the shot I said no but they still preceded to try in convince me. Telling me that it will affect my baby & whatever else that would guilt me into getting it. It worked though because stupidly I got it and ever since I feel terrible. I have headaches everyday , nose stopped up, and nauseous. Im tryna convince myself that its just pregnancy symptoms but I been pregnant before and didn't feel like this (didn't get the flu shot that time).

I got the flu shot a few weeks ago because my doctor explained now that I'm pregnant it'll be easier for me to get a cold that could turn into the flu. I always heard that the flu shot gives you the flu but I didn't feel any different after, my arm just hurt where I got it. I've never gotten a flu shot before now so I was iffy too. But just remember it's your body and your choice so if you don't want to get it then don't.

I got the flu vaccine when I was 8, and a month and a half later, I was hospitalized for two weeks because I had gotten the flu that bad. Ever since then, my parents refused to give me the flu shot, and I've been perfectly healthy since. I don't plan on getting it anytime soon, nor will I give it to my child. But that's just my opinion. If you don't want the shot, don't get it. It was wrong of the doctor to do that to you. He cannot force you to do it, especially without your specific written consent.

Then explain how people have gotten it multiple times have gotten the flu but when they stopped get the vaccination for it they haven't gotten it and trust me I know a whole lot of people that do get it after getting vaccinated and they don't get the shot anymore

Its common knowledge that the injectable flu vaccine is not a live virus. I don't have to do the study on it to know. That it why is it safe for pregnant women and immunocompromised persons. There is an intranasal flu vaccine which is a live virus, but that's not given to pregnant women or those with chronic health conditions. It's not like scientists can be wrong about whether or not a vaccine is a live virus as the preparations and adjuvants and even the storage and handling of the vaccine have to be completely different when it contains a live virus.

And you yourself know that for sure you yourself has done the study on it so you know 100% that it's not a live virus I doubt it they tell you that but no offense but scientist have been wrong before and if you yourself didn't test it then how do you know for sure.

It is biologically impossible. Correlation does not imply causation. You can get sick, yes, because your immune system is working to build antibodies so if you are exposed to anything else you'll have a tougher time fighting it off in the few days after immunization. However the flu vaccine is not a live virus and cannot replicate in the body to cause illness.

I don't care what that nurse says I have gotten my flu shot three times and every single time I got the flu and now that I'm older I have the choice to get it and I don't and ever since I haven't gotten the shot I haven't gotten the flu so sorry to say but that alone proves to me that it was the shot I got it from. My mom is also the same way so don't tell me the flu shot can't give you the flu.

I've never had a flu shot in my life, if you don't want one, don't get one. My Doctors recommended it as well. Just do the best you can to stay healthy and away from anyone who is sick. If you have to work somewhere with lots of flow of people, make sure to wash your hands constantly. Continue to eat well and stay hydrated too!!

I got mine but mostly because I have asthma and a very weak immune system.  My Dr said I needed to get it just on that fact alone. So I did. My neighbor on the other hand who is due soon was told not to get it. So it's really up to you.

Ask for a second opinion. Or a new doctor. That guy sounds like a d!ick. Doctors should never use scare tactics into getting their patients to do things. If you're really super upset about it, you can always report him.
