My dr gows straight to the 3hr one at 26-28wks. He said he didn't think it was worth doing it earlier as my early urine tests hadn't shown any sugars indicating i was at risk and he doesn't trust the 1hr test. He is adament I have to do it soon now that I'm almost 28wks tho as it does tend to appear in the 3rd trimester and can have pretty bad complications.

Usually they call you the next day or 2 days after if you didn't pass.. I haven't got a call yet so I'm hoping that's good news lol, as I said I got mine done on Friday it's now Wednesday. :)

Got mine done at 28 weeks, but that's because I found out I was pregnant literally earlier this month let alone 29 weeks today haha. It's really not as bad as people make it out to be, drink the sugary crap, go out to your car, fiddle on your phone for an hour go back in and get your blood taken and you're done! It's not that bad :) except they gave me a lime flavored drink ask for the orange!

Unless ur doctor wants u to take it right now its to early. Your doctor has to order it to be done. So just relax your dr well let you know.

My mother in law ended up having gestational diabetes with my husband. She still has diabetes, since I don't know anything about my family history. Their gonna make me take it.

I was 30 weeks when I took mine if you have it and don't get it under control it can be harmful for you and your baby and you could have a huge baby you just take the test once usually it's a 1 hour test and if you fail that one you have to take a 3 hour test If you fail that one you have GD and just have to watch your diet and check your sugars and what not

It's normally taken between 24 and 28 weeks. Doctors will ordered it sooner if there's history of GD or type I or II diabetes in your family. There's 3 different tests that can be ordered, 1, 2 and 3 hours long. I was administered the 2 hour test, but everyone on here seems to have been given the 1 hour test. If you fail, they'll have you take the 3 hour test. If you have gestational diabetes, it can cause complications during pregnancy.

I know when I did mine they did it to early an I had to do a retake. They just want to make sure you don't develop gestational diabetes cause that can put you at a high risk pregnancy. My doctor had me do my second one at 28 weeks. But normally you just do it once unless it was done to early or you come out positive then you do another one but for 3 hours
