glucose test

OK so my next appt is Wednesday and I gotta take my glucose test. What should I expect? If I have a choice to choose a flavor is the best one fruit punch? How long does this appt normally last?

I took mine Wednesday, I got the orange flavor and loveddddddddd it !! My biggest craving is orange soda and that is exactly what it tasted like to me... My Dr said I had five minutes to drink it all .. I was done in 45 seconds lol! It wasn't thick and syrupy.. mine was very thin and light .. I was super hyper afterwards and so was baby but if they call me and tell me I failed and half to take the three hour test is probably be excited to drink that drank again Lmao

You can have a light breakfast but nothin high in sugar, I didn't eat or drink before my appt at all. You have five minutes to drink the drink, it's sickly sweet and gave me heartburn but it's doable. It tastes like flat orange soda syrup. Then you wait for an hour but you can't do anything besides sit around really. Then you get the blood work done and it's over. If you throw up you have to retake the test. It's not pleasant but it's not awful

I just had mine on Thursday. It wasn't bad at all I had orange it tasted like flat syrupy pop. It comes in about 8oz or so bottle that you get 10 mins to drink then have to wait an hour for your blood to be drawn. I will say that glucose stuff gave me bad heartburn though...lol

Definitely wasnt as bad as it seems. i had to do the 1hr test early on, and i chose orange. The hardest is drinking it all in under a minute. I go do my 3 hour test in 12 days at my next appointment.

I wasn't told not to eat or drink anything. But I was asked if I do drink something to make sure it's water. And it's more than a shot less than a glass. It's not a whole lot. Maybe half a can of soda, or a little less.

I guess every doctor is different! Lol. They also told me when I got there I couldn't eat after drinkkng the stuff. And it's a cup full! But still not bad if you drink it fast.

Yeah really not as bad as is seems. I thought it tasted like orange koolaid with to much sugar. And it being cold made it easy to drink quickly. I was never told not to eat before i took it but was told not to eat after i drank the stuff.

See my doc told me I can't have anything sweet before the test not to not eat at all. And how much of this sugary drink do we have to drink, is it like taking a shot? Lol or is it like drinking a whole glass of medicine

I passed mine the first time also. So glad I did because they make you do a 3 hour one here if you fail the 1 hour one.

It's not as bad as people make it out to be. I had the fruit punch flavor and it wasn't tasty by no means. Lol. I just drank it really fast. We had to wait an hour until they drew blood . After that hour we got to leave. The worst part for me was the no eating or drinking after midnight the night before. I was starving by the time I got outta there!

It wasn't as bad as some people make it seem! I read a lot of comments about it before I took mine and a lot of them had me freaking out!! At my office they have 3 different kinds; orange (1 hour test), red (3 hour test), and another (6 hours test: not sure of color or flavor.). The orange tasted like orange soda, but a lot colder and a lot more sugar. It started to hurt my throate because of how cold it is and I only had like 30 seconds-1 minute to drink it. If you fail that one you go in for a 3 hour test. Then if you fail that one you have a 6 hour test. I passed mine so I'm not sure what the red (fruit punch) tastes like.
