I go in for my glucose test wednesday what are your stories & experiences ?? If there are any ladies from oregon id like to hear your storied too sencr thats where i live byt all are welcome please im a ftm and dont know ehat to expect

My doctor told me to eat light since it was more tords the afternoon so I wouldn't be starving myself . And to drink nothing but water until after .

I got my drink a few weeks before the test I was told to take it 20 min before my appt so when I seen the dr I wouldn't have to wait for the hour to go by I was told not to eat or drink because it messes with your sugar level and you would have to retake it anyway my sugar levels can back normal it was a 97 a normal level is around 100 so I was very lucky even tho I crave sugar all the time! Any ways it's not too bad I almost throw up the drink but I paced myself so it wouldn't come back up... Seeing some of these stories it looks like a lot of places do it differently so I would just go by what your dr said and goodluck to you

I had fruit punch as well and I actually thought it was pretty good. Tasted just like really sweet koolaid. Lol... and my docs never said anything about eating.or drinking so I just went about my day and meals like any other before I took the test and it was fine. I couldn't eat or drink during the hour after drinking it though of course.

Oh and they told me I could eat before but I couldn't eat or drink anything but water after I drank the juice it depends on what your doctor says so I'd you are allowed to eat I suggest eating something that isn't sugary and giving yourself at least an hour in between eating and drinking the juice

I tried the fruit punch flavored drink, it wasn't too horrible! All of the drinks just taste like sugar. I didn't pass the first glucose test and its because I had a very sugary breakfast. If I would have known I wouldn't have eaten before! I did the 3 hour test and passed but the 3 hour test is terrible! You definitely want to pass the first time

Mine tasted like melted freezie but more sugary. You get 5 minutes to drink 8oz. Then wait an hour with no food or water. Try not to have too many carbs or anything sugary (even fruit) in the morning because it can raise your blood sugar before you even go in. Do make sure to eat though. Lots of protein and veggies will help. I passed with flying colors.

I went to take mine and they told me before I went in to not eat anything or drink anything NOT EVEN WATER. why I don't know! Lol but yes you can eat right after they take the blood out. Not during the waiting.

They have different flavor, the one I got was lemon it was disgusting.. it tasted like sprite with no gas and tons and tons of sugar added to it. It wasn't so bad drinking it since they give you 5 minutes to finish up a little bottle. The waiting is what stinks, I felt like I was going to throw up right after I drank it but if you throw up at all they'll make you come back and drink it again.just be strong take something to keep you distracted and drink tons of water after your all done and eat something that doesn't have alot of sugar in it.

I just had my glucose test done last week and I am also a first time mom . I'm not from organ but the stuff they had me drink was nasty at first but if you chug it it's not so bad ! And it's better that if your appt is early in the morning to drink water and eat light maybe some crackers or something simple without alot of sugar . If you get sick then you will have to redo the test . And where I'm from they make you do a three hour one if you get sick with the hour long one . But good luck to you !
