It takes 1 hour for your bladder to be full enough for an ultrasound. What I do is start drinking water or juice about 1 before my appointment. It always works because 9 out of 10 times you go in after your actual time.
Even if it's not fully full don't worry. They van check baby with a half full bladder. Once your bladder is full then they can check your cervix.
That's the reason why it needs to be full because your bladder when it's full tilts your cervix.
That should be fine. If it takes that long to get there then maybe just drink half a bottle of water before you leave and then take a full bottle to drink in the car.
Is 16 oz enough? That's one water bottle and i think I'll be able to handle that
Unfortunately atm I think it's different a lot of places bc pf new technology. 3 years, ago when I was pregnant with my son I had to drink the water fur anatomy scan. But this pregnancy no one's cares bc they all tools me tech is,so much better abd new ultrasound machines you don't need the water so may just friends on how new the machines are unfortunately :-(
U don't want it too full either cos I held it in with my first son and it really hurt and was scared I was gonna pee when she was pressing down on my tummy.. It was horrible
My ultrasound tech always asks if I need to empty my bladder before I get my ultrasounds lol. Maybe just drink 1/2 gallon of water like 30 min before your appointment. That way your bladder will be full?
It totally ***** I remember going for my ultrasounds and I was sitting there with my legs crossed cuz it hurt so bad lol but my ultrasound girlsaid that if it gets to the point wwhere it hurts to hold in your pee to just pee a little (as hard as that I'd) but it really does releve some of the pressure
Ugh I feel ya I can't sleep straight thru the night anymore without having to pee
I hate it especially at night BC i always feel thirsty so if i drink before bed i won't sleep, I'll be peeing all night
I think its impossible to hold your bladder for too long when preggo lol. I had two glasses of water when we went out to eat the other day and within an hour and a half I peed 6times lol
That's a good idea BC it takes 30 minutes to get there
I would say just drink a bottle of water when you are on the way to the doc.
