I had my first ultrasound when I was only 6 weeks but that was just to confirm my pregnancy. You don't normally get an ultrasound until you're around 18-20 weeks. Excessive ultrasounds can harm your baby, so it's recommended to only have the 1 unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
If you would read my post completely tishaxx I did say they do more if you are high risk. They also tend to do one early in the pregnancy if you are unsure of a conception date...if you know when you conceived they tend not to feel one is needed in the early stages in my area. Im not saying your doctor is doing it wrong by any means. Im just saying how the doctors do it here. This forum is for support not arguing. Im not saying anything is being done wrong...just how we do it here.
And they do it different in every country
bfeld you cant tell me nothing you can't say to me I'm not high risk you don't know me I'm high risk I have scan every 2 weeks because I'm high risk and I live in the UK I had regular scans with my prem baby because I was high risk with her aswell so its got nothing to do having regular periods
Yea i would. N i understand i felt like that with my first pregnancy that's how I knew my doctor wasn't right for me..nw i love my doctor office i was with dem wit my son n nw wit dem wit dis pregnancy too n she take her time out and talk to me and explain stuff to me when I don't understand ...i really hope everything wrk out for u..
Yup that's exactly what I was thinking to do change clinic. This is my first pregncy and it's difficult to understand thing more when they don't try to explain. Ive only had 1 ultrasound and im 12 weeks pregnant. But this week im going with a specialist doctor to do an us
Well i had 3 ultrasounds already n im 13weeks n 3day my first ultrasound was at 5weeks...n wit da Down's syndrome screening they have a three parts step the first trimester blood work n a ultrasound..if u dnt feel like ur doctor office rite for u n da baby try to fine a different doctor office..
Around here they do one at your first apt. To confirm your due date since most don't ovalate on time. For example the due date they gave me wasn't matching my lmp they were a month off. But every doctor is different good luck
They did the down syndrome test they did blood tes last week im 12 weeks about to be 13 . But no scan. I did the glucose test and the one dor down syndrome
If you want to do the down syndrome testing they should be doing an ultrasound at 12 weeks
I didn't get an ultrasound until 18 weeks.
Every doctor is different. Im not sure where you are located but in Wisconsin most doctors won't do one until 20 weeks. Im 12 weeks...no ultrasound until 20 weeks and that will be to check growth and development. That will be my only one. Tishaxx...Im confused as to what you are telling me is untrue. They do more frequent ultrasounds if you are high risk. I'm just saying in my area if everything is going well and you know when you conceived doctors here will not order one until 20 weeks.
bfeld no not true I have regular periods but doesnt mean any of us arent high risk you don't know what kind of history we have and things like that I've had rough pregnancy with my other 3 so that's not true but good luck on your pregnancy how many weeks
I haf one at seven weeks at my first appointment and one at 12 weeks for my nuchal translucency-check risk for down syndrome. I will get another at 21 weeks if they dont given me one tomorrow at 16+4
Typically if you have regular periods, are not high risk, and the pregnancy is progressing normal they dont do a scan until around 20 weeks. Each doctor is different. You can't really see much on an early ultrasound.
Is the scan normally like a ultrasound or is different. I had a us when I was 8 weeks but I think it waa a us
I had one at 8 weeks only because I was having abdominal pain. My doctor told me they dont do one normally where I am until 20 weeks.
cali1904 1 ofy friends hat to wait until 17-18weeks because they didn't have any room at 12 weeks she ent high risk like me thow but you should ask your doctor hun
They should've done one at 10 weeks. I'm high risk so I get an ultrasound every time I go into see the doctor. With my others though I had one at 10 weeks and then 18 and then like 26 weeks I think it was.
