is it normal to gain more weight in second pregnancy?

Is it normal to gain more weight in the second pregnancy than the first? When I went into labor (at 40 weeks exact) the first time with my daughter I was 217 pounds. This pregnancy I am 27 weeks and already weigh 220 pounds! I've gained 33 pounds so far!! I'm not a junk food eater, or pop drinker. I don't over do it. Is this normal to gain more weight? Its making me depressed to think that I might double my weight gain.

So far it's the other way around for me as well! With my first I gained 50 lbs by 40 weeks and I'm currently 17 weeks and I lost 15 lbs. I hope I don't end up gaining as much

Yes its very normal to gain more in your second pregnancy. I only gained 20 lbs with my first with this one I've already gained 23 and i just started my 3 rd trimester. You shouldn't worry that much about it. Just try to do some exercises and walk which i know is hard sometimes, but just do your best. It could be water weight too so try not to have a lot of salt. Good luck and congrats. Hope you feel better. Don't be too hard on yourself. Being pregnant is hard.
