light and long period

Hi, sorry for the long post :) Me and my fiance are trying for another baby for 4 months. My period is regular, heavy and lasts about 6 days, and always very painful, I take 4 to 6 panadols a day for about 3 first days of period, its always really bad.. But. This month I started spotting on the 23rd (about 2 weeks earlir when my period should start) a tiny bit, few drops of Brown spotting, only used a pantyliner a day, so I was hoping it was implantation bleed, but I kept on spotting till yesterday, yesterday it got a little bit heavier, and not only Brown, but kinda reddy-brown... And it didnt get any heavier, and no pms symptoms, no cramping, no pains at all.... Why is my period not like previous periods? I did do preg tests... Negative :( so im wondering why im having a really long and light period

before I found out I was pregnant I took two Ovulation Predictor kitsfrom the Dollar Tree and they both came back with a strong positive I waited another day or two for my period to come still no period and I bought a pregnancy test and and another line came up immediately it was a strong positive good luck!

Alelismith. That's the same symptoms that I had last month with spotting of 3-4 days like one or two drops a day. Took a test this past weekend and it was negative. So don't know what to think now

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that it is possible that you didn't ovluate this cycle and that is the reason for your unusual period.  This happens commonly and usually is nothing to worry about.  Most of the time, the next cycle is back to normal.  IF you don't have a regular cycle, you should repeat the pregnancy test.

oh, i'm so dissappointed, it just doesn't look like implantation bleeding :(  the period is red today but still not heave and no cramps... so i suppose it IS just a light period :( i had a baby six months ago, so all the doctor would say is that my period might be different and irregular after giving birth, so i'm not going to the doctors, unless i still bleed for another week... cause would be too long for a normal period to be :(
with my first child, i did have browny-pink spotting when i was about 5 wees, but i already knew i was pregnant and went in to hospital about it, didn't want to misscary, and on the ultrasound it showed that i just had a little scratch  inside, nowhere near the amniotic sac, thats why i had spotting..... its just right now its too heavy to be an implantation bleed,plus it lasts too long, but at the same time its not heavy enough to be implantation :(

Sounds like you should go see your doctor soon. According to all the research I've done since my implantation bleeding, it stated that implantation bleeding occurs 6 to 12 days after ovulating. If you keep track of everything like I do then for sure you will get the answer you're seeking from your doctor.  Only way to know for sure is have blood work done. Good Luck to you.

It sounds real familiar.  Don't get discouraged. Just wait a little longer to test. Sometimes if the hcg isn't enough to show on a hpt it surely will on the blood test. My last normal period was on May 26th, usual 4 to 5 days and heavy. On June 22nd I missed my period, but I thought it was just starting to be irregular again. So, on June 23rd I thought it finally came and my husband & I could try again. BUT Day 1 at 1pm I had spotting...I put a panty liner on and on that day it was one spot (quarter size) which I noticed at 6pm. That entire night nothing. Day 2 I thought it was for sure my af. At 9am I had a little bit of a heavier flow (not like my normal period), but it was pinkish red and very watery which continued on to Days 3 & 4 with floss like stringy clots (Nothing like the normal blood clots). I tested days 4 & 5 AFTER the bleeding stopped it was negative.  I didnt want to be discouraged again, so I decided I'd wait til next month to see if my period would come again...so now I'm really pregnant with excessive symptoms.  Good Luck with the blood work if you decide to do it. Slight correction to my post, my discharge didn't get reddy-brown, its a very light pink... Its reddy-brown brown when it stays on the pad... So slight brown spotting from the 23rd of july and pale pink period for three days now... Like a very very very light period... My preg test is still.negative so I suppose its just a light period :/ even though it is usually heavy and bright red...

The other thing I forgot to say was that I took an ovulation test yesterday and the day before and that came up as a positive so I was ovulating. Do u think that this could have something to do with it. Im sorry for all the questions just nit sure x

Hi. Thanks for ur reply. It has now gone to a browny discharge and next to nothinh on pad. so very confused As this only started this morning and now nearly finished so confused. Thinking I might go and see my gp in the next few days. Definitely dont want to het my hopes up and then b disappointed x

Implantation bleeding isn't usually bright red. I say after you're done bleeding go see your doctor & get blood work done. That will save you money on hpts & actually give you a definite answer you're seeking.  Good Luck.

hi im going through the same thing. had normal period 19th-23rd july. now 12 days later bleeding again not alot though started this morning but it is not brown very red with slight clear discharge. have cramps and funny taste in my mouth. never had this on my first pregnancy so a bit confused. any advice would be gratefully recieved as i done a pregnancy test yesterday and this came back negative so not sure whats happening xx

Hi, same thing happened to me last month on June 23rd. I was a day late, but was spotting for 4 days on & off. My husband & I have been ttc since Nov and now im 8 weeks pregnant.  Try testing 7 days after it stopped. Good Luck
