natural birth/how bad is it

Every since I've been pregnant (February 27 2014) I never been lazy I always walked....I'm 37 weeks and 1 day and have 20 days to go until I go into labor....
I'm doing a natural birth without epidural and I just wanted to know will it hurt or will my exercise kinda help ease the pain??

I led on my back purely because i was in too much pain (my lg was led on my spine-all 8lbs of her!), but i wouldn't recommend it for giving birth. Ive heard being on all fours is good

I spent 23 hours in labour, and my daughter was also back to back. I had a completely natural birth, and it was SO hard, but also easier because I could listen to my body fully. It was also great to just be able to get up 10 mins after giving birth and walk around normally. At the time you feel like you'll regret it, but in the end you won't (hopefully). Do whatever feels right for you :)

Oh I also want to add that I have a very low pain tolerance.  But birth is nothing you can't handle. But like I said, birth position is very important

I had a home water birth. Its not that bad. But giving birth on your will hurt the most, thats the worst way. And pitocin also makes contractions more painful.  So idk. Mine wasn't bad at all. But I gave birth on my hands and knees in the water.

i had my son 4.5 month's ago. and Honestly im a whimp when it comes to pain and I planned on getting the epidural but my son came way to fast I went from a 3cm to 9cm within and hour and half I thought I could hold off but boy was I wrong it was to late the contractions towards the end where pretty bad then the actual pushing part. I pushed for two minutes and my son was out then all the pain just went away at the time and plus once you have your bundle of joy in your arms you'll forget about the pain. But im not going to lie the next couple of days arent fun thats when you start to feel it but I also got a second degree tear from my son so I had stitches and it wasnt fun. But it was so totally worth it.

The contractions are what hurts,  not the pushing or the baby coming out. I went all natural and plan to do it again this time.

A woman who's had 5 children naturally told me 1. Stay on top of the contractions with your breathing (theres different breathing techniques for that) 2. When you're pushing, don't push the baby out flat on your back, tilt yourself to the side, like with one leg in the air. I guess it relieves the pressure on your butthole ( if you watch birth videos butthole pain is a problem) and it also puts your vagina and birth canal in an easier angle

Ive had 2 epidurals and 2 natural,  if I could take the medicated births and do it naturally I would. Its so much better and surw it hurts but its so rewarding

Good question I want to do an all natural vbac this time around for my first I made it to 9 1/2 cm my docs couldnt believe I was so far because I was still laughing and having a good time skyping family my bubs was breech and they missed it in triage so it was almost an emergency csection because they waited sooo late. I am hoping this laboring experience will be the same. I am very scared about the pushing the baby out part everyone says it burns like a b***h but then its over... I dont know if thats true.

I had one child natural only because i got to the hospital at 8 centimeters and it was too late to get one and i was extremely painful. I tried to have my next child natural and i just couldn't do it. It was an awesome experience but also the most painful thing ever.

I'll be 100% with you right now. I went natural until I hit 8cm, I broke. Now, unfortunately I was also induced and I know man made pitocin is worse than the natural pitocin you make. I have an extremely high pain threshold, and it wasn't the pain that made me break. It was the fact that I could really not catch my breath or relax between contractions at all. So I stopped progressing.  By all means, go for it! I am all for it! Don't let ANYONE tell you that you can't.  But if you get to a point where you can't handle it, don't feel guilty in taking the epi. You're not any less wonderful than any other mother out there. We all feel the same pain the day after when the meds have worn off haha.

I also had to have 2 large episiotomies. Internal and external.  But I'm like, ridiculously tiny through my vaginal region.  They really are out dated, and most doctors really will not do them unless medically necessary.

I excercises everyday during my pregnancy. Everyone was like you are going to have such an easy labor!... NOPE! I got an epidural and it was still the most painful thing I have ever experienced. Everyone is different but that's my experience
