I wore my pregnancy belly button ring all the way to the delivery room ( 2nd pregnancy) with no issues at all.  As mentioned above, if you left it long and did not cut it a little, it may be moving too much and the friction is causing the irritation.  Mine did close with my first pregnancy and I had to get it pierced again.  I had my belly ring for 6 yrs, but it did close up during the 3 months I had it out.  If the shorter flexible ring is still irritation, take it out, but I do recommend inserting it all the way through a few times a day just to be sure it does not close.  My belly button looks just like it did before I had babies, so everyone is different.  Congratulations:)

My sister kept hers in and it gave her a large stretch mark where it was. I would just take it out.

did you cut it to resize it? it might be too big and your cloths could be pulling on it

If u have had it pierced a while or long enough for it to heal completely u wont have to get it redone. I have had mine out for like three years. And it's still open I put one in a every once in a while just checking and me if it still open and it has been u should be fine

Yeah it's the long flexible one i know it's not infected because before i put in i clean it so idk im thinking it's the baby position im only 15 weeks but if keep on hurting i might as well take it and get it repierced after i have my child.

Is it one of the long flexible plastic ones? I had them for my first two pregnancies and they were fine, but with my third my bellybutton felt like it was going to tear so I ended up taking it out altogether. I guess it must have been to do with baby's size and position. He's 5 weeks old now and I haven't even bothered trying to put it back in.

Just take it out then. Not getting an infection and caring about your baby is more important than a belly button ring
