pregnant with mirena?

Hi I have a question. I have this birth control called mirena and Ive had it not for 23 months (2 years next month) and I just started having pregnancy symptoms last month like bloating and tender breast. I also being feeling movement in my stomach, cramping and Abdominal pain. I also being feeling some pressure down there and Im tired all the time, I still eat about the same but now I would eat and get back hungry quicker. I also gained 10 pounds and I don't know how because i'm not eating more or anything. I took a pregnancy test two days ago and it was negative. When I have sex with my fiance he says he doesn't feel it. I'm really nervous because Im not trying to have another baby right now can anyone help me?

I would definitely have a test done at the Dr. to see what's going on. It could be pregnancy or just side effects from the birth control.

When I first got the mirena my partner always felt it but now he dont. I use to go to the doctor all the time and they said it was in there right. I dont check it on my on because it is very uncomfortable and I could never feel the strings. Its really weird because my breast has grown and I have blue veins on one and montgomery glands on the other one.. I really hope it is just the symptoms. I made a appt for weds. Thanks for your help!

If you took a pregnancy test and it was negative I wouldn't worry.  I would however take another one in a few days to make sure.  The other symptoms could be side effects of the birth control and you probably be checked out by a doctor.  With Mirena if you do get pregnant it can be life-threatening and there are a lot of other risks with it that might explain your symptoms.  I would see your GYN or PCP - whoever prescribed it to get checked out.  Good luck!

Your partner should never feel it. It's placed at the top of the cervix and it's impossible for him to penetrate you that far. My husband felt my IUD, and that's only when it has slipped out of place and was at the bottom of my cervix. He might feel the strings, but that's a little different. Do you check once a month as you should to see if it's still in place? If you do and can't feel the strings you need to see a doctor. You can see one anyways and have a blood test done. Because Mirena is a hormonal birth control it can also cause identical symptoms to pregnancy (even if it never has before) so those alone do not mean or tell much. Until you see a doctor, do not engage in unprotected sex (pulling out also doesn't count)
