Hi
I had my appointment and fortunately i did not have the antibodies which are called anti d due to my blood, i have an antibodie which is called anti m. This is great news as there is lessf a chance of anything going wrong.
But if there is anybody looking for info on the anti d i did find aout that you need to have a bleed weather this is a bleed which happens so you can see it (which if you do you should see your midwife to get the anti d jab) or a silent bleed which can happen inside it is just where your blood and the babys blood mixes, you will then be sensitized if you do no thave the anti d jab. You will only then have problems in your next pregnancy but only if you have a bleed or a silent bleed. They will then kepp a good check on you.
I hope this helps anyone who is looking for info on this.

iv heard of this as i donate platelets, but i have special platelets because mines can be donated to babies because i dont have any of the antibodies in my blood.i dont have any kids just now but me and my partner are ttc,but i was told if i did fall pregnant i would need to let the doctors know so i can take tablets, this is more so if the baby turns out to be the same blood type as the father,he's O positive am A negative,i was told they wud keep i close eye on me in my pregnancy, incase the antibodies start to attack the baby.they also said that that if it was a bad labour and and the babys blood got into ur system it starts building up antibodies and can be harmful to the next baby because it see its as something foreign in ur body. theres not many people with these special platelets thati can donate to babys where i live so i try to donate as often as i can, like every three weeks, the last time i donated i heard it was going to a baby who was gonna be born on the monday,i donated on the friday and i think they where going to a baby who mum builds up these anti bodies,i think platelets are the white blood cells thats in ur blood, the baby was gonna be born with a low white blood cell count,i find it all very interesting, its cool that i can donate these to babys but the downside is that in turn i could harm my own baby if i fall pregnant grrrr
im 20 weeks tomorrow and i go to the dr to get the gender u/s !!! yay
Hi avaortega
I am sure you will be ok, but do make sure they test you all the time and also check the baby, how many months pregnant are you?
Just make sure they are on top of this and are keeping an eye on the levels
yea im rh negative and no i didnt she was born in mexico i was never told i even was rh negative till this pregnancy and my Dr. didnt explain any thing to me he just said that in the blood work it shows that i have anti bodys but not enough to even count ??? and thats all the explaining he did
I just read this..
Once you're sensitized (have antibodies in your blood), you have the antibodies forever. And you produce more with each pregnancy, so the risk of Rh disease is worse for each subsequent baby. While healthcare providers try to screen and treat as many women as they can reach, about 5,000 babies still develop Rh disease in the United States every year.
On the other sites i was reading, you will only produce more antibodies if your baby is Rh positive. But since you have these then chances are your partner is RH positive. Since more people are Rh Positive, it says there a 70% chance that your baby is RH positive
I think I confused what my doctor was saying with getitng the shot at 28 weeks so it must be 3 days from what i am reading
I also would love more information. I am rh - also.. I got the Rhogam shot after my miscarriage but found out then that i should have it any time i explain spotting or bleeding while pregnant.. I had spotting the day after I got my BFP but it was alike a light pink spot... and evenually I had a tiny bit of brown blood.. I still wonder if I am going to be positive for antibodies in the future,. I am very afraid about this My doctor said you need to have the shot within 28 days but someone on this forum said it was 3 days.. In the future when im pregnant again, im going to try to clarify this so i can make sure i am on top of it if I do spot, etc.
.
I am really not sure about if you need to have a bleed to get more antibodies or not.. I wish I knew
