I don't know weather it is actually genetics, may be a debate there. I think it just depends in the elasticity and collogen in your skin. I have heard bio oil works very well, and that water based lotions are bad for stretch marks.
My mother and her sister never got any stretch marks, my mom having four kids in all and my aunt only one. But I have always had stretch marks on my breasts and inner thighs, an I've akways been pretty small.
Nothing will get rid of stretch marks except laser removal. The lotions help with the itching but it will not make them go away. Over time they will get lighter and turn a silvery color but the bright side...I got them with my first pregnancy and never got them again. It's genetics as to wether you get them or not.
Note. I gained 50 lbs with the first pregnancy and lost it all within 2 months after my daughter was born. Now being 18 I'm 16 weeks pregnant and at 115 lbs
I was 15 and 105 lbs with my first pregnancy and I did not get stretch marks untill 38 weeks and I didn't use anything to prevent them bc nothing works! Studies show nothing will prevent stretch marks if your going to get them them your going to get them! Scratching can make stretch marks worse and that is what the lotion is for, to make your stomach not itch! My stretch marks faded to where they are barely noticeable and I am now 16 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child.
I guess our little ones were behaving, but they didn't have any more space >.<
Im 39+3 and was excited cause i hadnt gotten any either and i noticed some faint lines the other day too. Ive been putting cocoa buttee on multiple times a day since then.
Thank you for replying :) I will try the Bio Oil and see how it works for me
