trying again after miscarriage

A Big Hello To Everyone,

You may have seen another post of mine but heres a little about me :-

Ok so iv had 2 miscarriages (still going through one at the moment) and 2 ectopic pregs (one ruptured, one treated with methotrexate) now as i only have one tube( due to rupture) the fertility department have offered us 2 rounds of ICIS ( as im only 25 this is all were entituled to) so i was suppost to be starting treatment this month (nov) when i was 3 days late now my periods have never been 'normal' i can never gage them sometimes im dead on date sometimes i dont have one for 9 weeks so anyway i was sick of doing tests and seeing that dreaded negative when i saw a positive i nearly swallowed my falk (i was eating my tea ha) so on the 17th i started spotting i was convinced it was a miscarriage ( i think deep down if u ask yourself that question you already know the answer! although always hold out hope) i went for a scan on the 18th where a sack was found and was estimated between 4-5weeks with a hcg of 597 so i was schedualed for another hcg on the 20th rang on the 21st to be told my hcg had gone down to 286 (that was like someone has literally hit me with a hammer) and told it was likely to be a failing pregnancy so anyway so mon i was in unbareable pain both physicaly and emotionally but just let mother nature take course so i went back for a scan yest 26th and was told no sack :-( all clear ( i was secretly hoping theyd got it wrong but doesnt look like it) im actually very grateful that it isnt another ectopic (even though i didnt have a sack with my 2 previous the nurse tells me you can still have a sack and it be ectopic) or i had to have an operation and had my hcg done 26th nov (after scan) and its at 181 grrrr was hoping since all gone my hcg would be back to normal i hate to drag these things out its really hard your body still thinking its pregnant when i know it isnt :-( so with my previous i have to go back until its under 5........ so back tomorrow for more bloods done im hoping its at 0 although still getting preg symptoms.

So my question really is how soon after can i conceive me and the hubby had a convo last nite and weve decided to give it another go naturally before ICIS and all the drugs ect although i will do anything i possibly can!

i have been reading a few posts all over the internet that say your at ur most fertile when you have miscarried is this correct?? Also im a little panacked beause i only seem to conceive oct, nov, dec, jan and now really dont want to wait until next oct (10 months away im sure you ladies will understand) when i spoke to my doc he said wait atleast 2 months to give my body a rest :-( would love to hear your stories.......

My thoughts and prayers are with all the ladies going through the same difficulties and hope your dreams off a bouncing baby are with you soon **baby dust to all**

thanks for your comments!
Personally i feel fine to ttc again as oct, nov, dec, jan are my most fetile months so i really didnt want to wait until next year ttc again, unless of course there was a medical reason or higher risk in preg just after miscarriage.
I personally feel its never something ill get over but you learn to live with it.
Thanks again Ladies.

I'm so sorry for your losses.  I just wanted to share that I did conceive *immediately* after a m/c (only 1 week after my hcg Levels reached 0), and went on to have a healthy baby.  I think one of the main reasons they tell you to wait a cycle or two is so they can accurately date your pregnancy, based on your periods, but that is such a small thing!  U/S can be used to determine your due date with very good accuracy.
I doubt if there is anything to you only being able to conceive in oct, nov, dec... it's probably just a coincidence.  Still, I hope this is your month... good luck!

Waiting two cycles is not needed drs say to for emotional reasons not medical reasons. Here is a recent study that should answer your question

Research Briefs from The Parent Review
No wait needed for pregnancy after miscarriage

For the best pregnancy outcomes, when should a woman try to conceive again after a miscarriage? The sooner the better, a new study suggests. Scottish researchers looked at data for nearly 31,000 women who became pregnant after an initial miscarriage. Compared to women who conceived 6 to 12 months after their miscarriage, those who became pregnant again within 6 months were 34% less likely to miscarry a second time. They were also less likely to have an ectopic pregnancy, a cesarean or preterm delivery, or a low-birth-weight infant. The highest risks of a second miscarriage and other pregnancy complications were seen among women who conceived more than 24 months after miscarriage. The findings run contrary to current guidelines by the World Health Organization to wait at least half a year to conceive after having a miscarriage, which affects approximately one in five pregnancies.

Firstly,  I am so sorry for your losses. You have had one tough road ttc. In terms of how long to wait, I think *most* Dr's recommend waiting a minimum of 2 complete cycles.. So, I would assume February (providing you get 2 cycles between now and then) would be a great time to try again. I am no expert but I wanted to at least offer my advice, give you my sincerest condolences and wish you the best of luck!! SSBD!!
