twins run in my family

Have a question is it possible to be carrying twins and twin not be detected at 8wks nor 12 wks ultrasound? Mom keeps telling me I'm carrying twins cuz  I have lost weight excessively and I eat well and keep up with my prenatals....

With technology as developed as it is, thats RARE. If you were having twins, they would've told you. Especially since you think they would be fraternal (my fraternal twins were detected on ultrasound @6 wks)

Twins run in both of our families as well. I was suppose to be a twin but my twin never formed. At birth there was another sac but no baby. My daughter wasn't a twin. However I go Thursday for a sonogram. I'll be 10w 4d and I feel like she'll say I'm having twins.

Actually no having a surprise twin just mean that the one was behind the other. Your twins are not all the same size my husband and his brother are twins and they were a pound apart.

Probably not twins. Multiples run in my family as well and many family members told me i was carrying multiples but nope its been one baby. Having a suprise twin is VERY unlikly and usually happens to women not getting proper prenatal care and check ups

Yes it is possible that you could carry twins and not know it. Most people find out for sure at their 18 week ultra sound when they find out the sex of the baby. Some people dint know until they are pushing them out. Just depends on their sizes and position

Its the bloat why you cant fit in pants. Even with twins it would not make you have a baby bump. Its all water weight and bloat before the second trimester.

You can only know by carrying twins threw ultrasound you would see them at 6weeks if twins run in your family then yh its possible to have twins but just because you've lost weight and eating  that doesn't mean anything my first pregnancy was twins.but that baby didn't develop the 2nd 1

Not to mention they would have picked it up in your hcg levels when they did blood tests

Not likely especially since now they also pick up the heartbeats. Two different ultrasounds without a double-heart rate detection or visibility of two babies is very unlikely. And symptoms dont mean squat.
