why do our bodies trick us?!

not really a questions, just venting. i know this not exactly the right forum but it has the most activity compared to the others.
my partner and i have only been ttc for a short time, i might sound naive but i didnt really think it would be difficult to get pregnant, you see people all the time having babies, all the books i have and the websites i have found don't mention how it can take months or even years to conceive.
this week i got my hopes up, my AF was 3 days late, i had a very small amount of discoloured cm on the day AF should have arrived and the couple of days to follow (but barely enough to notice) and i let myself get excited only to get a killer headache yesterday and this morning AF arrived :(
i cannot think of any reason i was late, im not stressed or worrying about anything, just not my month i guess.
last month i tried the ovulation kit but i couldnt get a positive reading for 7 days that i did the tests, not sure if i was doing it wrong, but i have brought more to try again this month and also the thermometer, so will try that.
good luck to all the other ladies ttc and who already have their BFP :)

I know how you feel. After 2 years of trying, I wondered if it would ever happen to me. I tried many opk's & barely got a positive. My hubby & i got checked out & everything came back in the clear. Lastly I had an hsg & 3weeks later got the wonderful news, now @ 16 weeks I feel blessed. It will happen when you least expect it. Sending baby dust your way!

First morning urine is usually not the best for OPKs since your LH surge usually begins in early morning when you are still sleeping and may not be apparent in your first morning urine. If you test in the early morning, you may miss your surge entirely since LH levels may already be reduced by the next morning. Late morning or early afternoon is usually best unless the instructions suggest otherwise.

my partner and i are off on a holiday in 2 weeks so hopefully that will give us some happy vibes and a BFP on our return :)

Me and my bf were ttc for over a year but I was married before nd never got PG so I was convinced I just couldn't have kids finally in October after another late af and still a negative hpt I gave up and we started talking adoption because I didn't want kids after 30 and I'm pushing 27... well January af was late but I did not get my hopes up but my bf made the comment that he bets I'm PG so I took the test and BAM it was true now I'm 8 weeks strong! I never believed anyone when they told me it would happen when I least expected it or when I stopped trying... but that's exactly how it happened!! Hope this encourages u good luck to u I hope it happens soon

you can order ovulation strips off ebay for cheap..thats what i used and that way if you want to test a couple times a day it doesnt put you in the whole that far and if you want to test for more than the 7 days then thats an option too... did you test between 10am and 2 pm...making sure you didnt drink anything for a couple hours before so your urine wasnt too diluted? just checking...

And yes its frustrating when our bodies trick us, its not a very nice trick either when it comes to pregnancy... hang in there! im sure your BFP is just around the corner!

I know it can be frustrating. I have read that alot of woman ovulate right after there periods even though the docs say it's usually two weeks after you stop your period. I believe I ovulated this month the day after my period stopped. I was a lil crampy and ached on my right lower side. Good luck to you and I hope you get your BFP next month
