preemie/newborn babies and running bowels

is normal for a baby to have 3 or more running bowels in one day; or is he having a reaction to the formula he is on?
he was born 37 1/2 weeks. he was 2 1/2 weeks early. what should i do?

In the first few weeks it is normal for a baby to have several very soft bowel movements each day. It may be worth a call to the doctor just in case.
