Hello Dr, please I want to know if their is any danger finishing radio therapy test and stop medication due to financial problem?
My mum finished her radio therapy test 6months back and doctor said she should take 6 packs of Zeloda drug which is very expensive. She took 3pack before we are financially down. Please Doctor, we want to know if their is any anger for not continuing medication.

Hi there!

Well the thing is, that treatment schedules and treatment times are designed after through research and are usually the minimum required for adequate treatment. I would suggest consulting you doctor for alternative brands for the same drug (capecitabine), that might be cheaper or considering alternative thereputic measures that you may be able to afford. It might also be a good idea to contact the social services in your region, if they would be in a position to help.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
