Hello Sir,

Unfortunately chronic prostatitis is a condiition in which multiple regiments of antibiotics are attempted until resolution of the disease. If many organisms are suspected, than sometimes many antibiotics are necessary to treat all of them, if you have had it for 6 months it is not possible to determine exactly how many weeks  you will require treatment. Generally treatment with antibiotics is arrested when patients no longer experience signs/symptoms of infection, no pain, no fevers, no discharge/redness etc. When you have complete resolution of symptoms, doctors will stop antibiotics.

Thanks!
