Dad just diagnosed with prostate cancer

What should be the first questions to talk with doctor and urologist? At this point bomb was dropped on us and just told that he has it, but i don't know what stage or grade it's at. he's a terrible patient and doesn't like to be picked and poked. he is in terrible pain constantly. he's 82 yrs old.

Hello all.  I have a question for the Doctor.  I had an elevated PSA reading of 4.43 in 10/2010.  My last readings were in 2007/2008 in same months Oct.  they were 2.64 &  2.62.  In Oct 2010 my Doctor performed DRE and felt nothing and requested a biospy.  I had a 16 core biopsy performed in Nov 2010 all clear except one was abnormal (ASAP).  Doctor recomended another 16 core biopsy in January 6, 2011.  All cores were normal.  My question is what questions should I ask my Doctor when I see him in Feb 2011.   I have been under quite intense amount of depression and anxiety for the last several months regarding the prostate evaluation.   Thanks for any and all help.

I'm a young guy with it , 53 now , diagnosed at 50 . P.C. in older men is a mostly  non-threatening issue , it grows EXTREMELY  slow in older men  and is almost expected at someone of his age . I believe the stats are 80%+ men of his age .
It will almost surely  NOT affect his life expectancy , it will not bother him in any way except perhaps slowing his urine stream or making it a bit difficult to start a urine stream , this they can give him meds for .
You all can relax  and stop worrying , go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation and get exact info. I PROMISE YOU , THIS WILL NOT  ADVERSELY AFFECT DAD AT HIS AGE . feel free to contact back, and get dad a bottle of booze ,a cigar and tell him he's going to be fine !
