Double PSA 1 month

Dr. Doctor,
My husband was dx with prostate in 1998, had radiation, seed implant, when PSA started raising after 2 years he started Hormone Tx, when started raising again he was started also on Casodex. Last January PSA started raising, had a Whole bone scan that showed it had metastases to L3, had 5 weeks of radiation that ended April 12, in may he started passing blood in the urine, went to Urologist that said was caused by his past radiation tx, recomended new Uncologist to do Chemo.
Whole bone scan was again done. The cance had metastased to Thoracic and Lumbar from T1 to S1, some ribs, both hips, left tybia and knee, right shoulder.
Started on a Chemo every 3 weeks, PSA kept going up slowly, after 4 chemos a MRI was done, shown new spots on his hips and no improvimeng on prior lession.
Last PSA this month has double from 21 to 43.8. Have an appt with his Uncologist next Friday.
Would like to know your opinion. Because his PSA has doubled in a month period it means that the Chemo Tx. is not working and the cancer possibily has spread to another location????
Forgot to mention that in 2002 he also had a lymph node in the Left Kidney aorta involvement.
