High PSA after Green-Light?

I HAD GREEN-LIGHT SURGERY TO REDUCE THE SIZE OF MY PROSTATE A YEAR AGO. MY PSA IS NOW HIGH - ABOUT 11, I HAVE TO GO TO THE DOCTOR NEXT WEEK BUT I LIKE TO HAVE SOME MEDICAL POINT OF VUE BEFORE. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?.
MY PROBLEMS WITH BPH DATED BACK TO 1987 AND I HAD 2 BIOPSIES: IN 1997 AT THE HOSPITAL OF THE UCSD AND BRITISH NHS IN 1997. IN BOTH CASES THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF CANCER. THIS TIME THEY DIDN'T DO ANY BIOPSY YET.
                                                       THANK YOU

Thank you for your response. You PSA rise could be due to a host of things, 1) BPH 2) Prostate Cancer 3) tissue changes from the laser treatment. Your urologist could suggest several diagnostic options including 1) a saturation biopsy (where more biopsy cores are taken) 2) PCA3 testing (which in several trials has been shown to be a highly specific prostate cancer test) 3) Endorectal MRI.

Best of luck,
