Hip Replacement 10 years after Radiation seeds

For 10 years the results from seeds were great, no problems (occassional drip not requiring a pad).

I had servere hemroids before seeds, the seeds eliminated the pain from the hemroids, I had the hemroids zapped with laser and started have urinary problems, the urinary problems are associated with hip pain magnified by playing handball with my grandkids. When my hips starts to hurt, if I do not rest it, from a few hours to a few days, I have urinary problems.

I have learned to catherize myself when I have a problem. I can control the problem by resting till pain goes away sometimes a week.

I have learned, by having my urinary track stretched, that circulation in this area was reduced and healing takes longer. 3 to 5 times as long.

Doctors tell me that hip problem and urinary are not related but it is my body and I can observe cause and effect.

Now I need a hip (probably not related to the seeds).

My question is:

WILL IT TAKE ME LONGER TO HEAL FROM REDUCED CIRCULATION, ARE THERE CASES AND DOCTOR WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH HIP REPLACEMENT AFTER RADIATION SEEDS?

THANKS IN ADVANCE.
Jim

I am not aware of the orthopedic consequences related to seed implantation. The usual complications related to brachytherapy treatment for prostate cancer are; urinary incontinence; pain on urination; blood in the urine; urethral stricture; etc.

Consultation with your surgeon is recommended.
