PSA value?

hi, i'm 52, extremely healthy and health conscious. my PSA has gone from 2.8 to 3.6 in last year, have retaken test and awaiting result. Have had biopsy recommended, but loath to jump ahead given unreliability of test but also what seems to be inability of biopsy to actually prove one doesn't have cancer. thoughts?

The thing about biopsey is if you take it correctly they can be very accurate. you must be put to sleep. Often times when it is done while your awake, it is painful and you move so the doc cannot get a good specimen. the jump in your psa is an indication of proten buildup which usually indicates cancer. Is your prostate enlarged? did the doctor feel it?
