Positive distal apical resection margins are positive, now what?

My husband had surgery 10/2/08, the pathology report came back, the right anterior and posterior distal apical resection margins were positive. The urologist suggested he wait 2 to 3 months and have a psa test. The Dr.said if the psa comes back with anything but zero my husband should then see a radiologist. I'm worried about waiting too long.
What would you suggest?

Thank you for your question. I can understand your anxiety. PSA exams following prostatectomy should be done in 6 weeks.

Followup care, given a PSA rise, will be dependent upon the tumor characteristics.

Sincerely,

AKT
